Do not plug-in or turn-on the power to the monitor until instructed to do so. • Th e foll owin g ill ust rati ons a re for you r referenc e on ly .
11 How to assemble your monitor hardw are Tighten the thumbscre w on the bottom of the monitor base as illustrated. Orient and align the stand arm with the monitor ( ), push them together until they click and lock into place () . Gently attempt to pull them back a part to check that they ha ve pr operl y engaged.
12 How to assemble your monitor hardware T o Connect the D VI-D Cable Connect the plug of the D VI-D cable (at the end without the ferrite f ilter) to the monitor video sock et. Connect the other end of the cable (at the end with the ferrite f ilter) to the computer video sock et.
13 How to assemble your monitor hardw are 3. Connect the headphones. Y ou ma y connect headphones to the headphone jack found on the back side of the monitor . 4. Connect USB devices. Connect the USB cable betw een the PC and the monitor (via the upstr eam USB port at the back).
14 How to assemble your monitor hardware 6. Connect the power cable to the monitor . Plug one end of the pow er cord into the sock et labelled on the rear of the monitor . Do not co nnect the other end to a pow er outlet just y e t. 7. Organize the cables.
15 How to assemble your monitor hardw are Switch the pow er switch next to the A C pow er input jack to ON . T urn on the monitor by pressing the pow er button on the monitor . T urn on the computer too, and f ollow the instructions in Getting the most fr om y our BenQ monitor on page 25 to install the monitor software.
16 How to assemble your monitor hardware How to detach the stand and the base 1. Prepar e the monitor and ar ea. T urn off the monitor and the pow er befor e unplugging the pow er cable . T urn off the computer befor e unplugging the monitor signal cable.
17 How to assemble your monitor hardw are T urn the stand counter clockwise until y ou cannot go fur ther . And then detach the base fr om the stand. Y ou can remove the headphone hook as illustrated.
18 Installing shading hood Installing shading hood T o pre v ent glare or most of unwanted r eflections fr om other light sources off y our screen, y ou can install the pro vided shading hoo d. Please be careful to pr ev ent damage to the shading hood and the monitor .

20 Installing shading hood 7. Install the piece . 8. If you intend to calibrate the displa y’ s color by a colorimeter , slide the piece to the left end so the colori meter can be installed. Follow the instruction man uals of the colorimeter you purchased and the pro vided software to complete t he installation and calibration process.
21 How to assemble your monitor hardw are Adjusting the monitor height T o adjust the monitor height, hold both the left and the right sides of the monitor to low er the monitor or lift it up to the desired height.
22 How to assemble your monitor hardware Rotating the monitor 1. Pivot the displa y . Befor e r otating the monitor with a portrait vie wing orientation, the disp la y has to be rotated 90 degr ees. Right-click the de sktop and select Screen resolution fr om the popup menu.
