Connection 17 • Many notebooks do not turn on their external video ports when connected to a projector . Usually a key combo li ke FN + F3 or CRT/ LCD key turns the external display on/off . Locate a function key labeled CRT/LCD or a function key with a mo nitor symbol on the notebook.
Operat ion 18 Operation Star ting up the projecto r 1. Plug the po wer co rd into the projector a nd into a power outlet. T urn on th e power outl et switch (where fitted) . Check that th e PO WER indicat or light on the projector lights orange after pow er has been applied.
Operation 19 A djusting the projected image A d justing the pr ojection ang le The projector is equipp ed with 1 quick- release adjuster foot and 1 rear adjuster foot. Thes e adjusters change t he image height and proj ection angle. T o adjust the project or: 1.
Operat ion 20 Correcting k eystone K e yston ing refers to the situation wher e the projecte d image is noticeab ly wider at either the top or bottom. It occurs when the projector is not p erpend icular to the screen. T o co rrect this, y ou will need to manuall y corr ect it foll owing ONE o f these st eps.
Operation 21 Us i n g t h e m e n u s The pr ojector is eq uipped with On-Scr een Displa y (OSD) men us for makin g various adjustments and settings. Below is the overview of the OSD menu. The following example descr ibes how to set the OSD language. 1.
Operat ion 22 Securing the projecto r U sing a security cable lock The pr ojector has to be installed in a safe plac e to prev ent theft. Oth erwise, purchase a lock, such as the K ensington lo ck, to secure the projector. Y ou can locate a K ensi ngton lock s lot on the rear side of the projector .
Operation 23 If y ou forget the passw ord If the password functio n is activated, y ou w ill be asked to ent er the six-digit passwor d every time you turn on the projector . If you enter the wrong password, the password e rror message as pictur ed to the right displa ys lasting for 3 seconds, and the INPUT P ASSW ORD message follows.
Operat ion 24 Changing the password 1. Open the OSD menu and go to the SYSTEM SETUP: Advanced > Security Settings > Change Password menu. 2. Press MODE/ENTER . The message “INPUT CURRENT P ASSW ORD” appears. 3. Enter the old p assword. i. I f the password is correct, another message “INPUT N EW P ASSW ORD” displays.
Operation 25 S w itching input sign al The projector can be connected to multiple devices at the same time. However , it can only display one full screen at a time.
Operat ion 26 Magnifyi ng and searching for details If y ou need to find the details on the pr ojected pictur e, magnify the picture. U se the directio n arrow k e ys for na v igating the pict ure. • U si ng t he rem ote con tro l 1. Press Digital Zoom +/- to display the Zoom bar .
Operation 27 About the aspect ratio • In the pictures below , the black portions are inactive areas and the white portions are active areas. • OSD menus can be displayed on those unused black areas. 1. Auto : Scales an image pr oportionally to fit the projector's native resolution in its horizontal or v ertical w idth.
Operat ion 28 Optimizing the i mage Us i n g W a l l C o l o r In the situation where yo u are proj ecting onto a colo red surface such as a painted wall which may not be whit e, the W all Color feature can help co r rect the pr ojected pictur e’ s colors t o prev ent possible c olor differ ence betw een the sourc e and projected pictures.

Operat ion 30 3D Color Management In most installatio n situations, color mana gement will not be necessary , such as in classroom, meeting room, or lounge room situ ations where lig hts remain on, or where building exte rnal windows allow daylight into the r oom.

Operation 33 • If you press POWER to turn off the proj ector without disabling panel key lock, the projector will still be in loc ked status the next time it is turned on.
Operat ion 34 A djusting the sound The sound adjustments made as below will have an effect on the projector speak er . Be sure you have made a correct connec tion to the projec tor audio inp ut. See "Connection" on page 16 for how the audio input is connect ed.

Maintenance 52 R eplacing the lamp • T o reduce the risk of electri cal shock, always turn the projector off and disconnect the power cord before changing the lamp. • T o reduce the risk of severe burns, allow the projector to cool for at least 45 minutes before replacing the lamp.
