4 2 Safe Operation Practices T raining 1. Read, understand, and f ollow all instructions on the machine and in the manual(s) bef ore attempting to assemble and oper ate. Keep this man ual in a saf e place f or future and regular ref erence and f or ordering replacement par ts.

6 3 Setting Up Y our Snow Thr o wer IMPORT ANT : The snow thrower is ship ped with oil and WITHOUT GASOLINE. Af ter assemb ly , refer to separate engi ne manual for proper fue l and engine oi l recommendations. NOTE : R emov e any packin g material, if present.

8 4 Operating Y our Snow Thr o wer Now that you have set up your snow thrower for opera- tion, get ac quainted with it s controls an d features. These are desc ribed bel ow and illustrated in Figure 4 - 1 . This knowled ge will allow you to use your new equip ment to its fulles t potential.

Alway s wear safety glasses while operating the snow th rower , or while per for ming an y adju st- ments or repairs on it.
10 Gas & Oil Fill-Up Ser vice th e engine with g asoline and o il as instruc ted in the separ ate engine manual pac ked with your unit. Read instru ctions c arefully . Starting The Engine 1 . Make cer tain both t he auger control an d drive control are in the dis engaged ( released ) posit ion.
11 A uger Control T est Perform the fol lowing test before operatin g your snow thrower for the first ti me and at the star t of each winter . Check t he adjustment of t he auger control as fol lows: 1 . When the aug er control is re leased and in th e diseng aged “up ” positio n, the cable s hould have v er y lit tle slack .
12 5 Making Adjustments A uger Control Refer to Auger Control T est on Pa ge 1 1 to adjust t he auger contr ol. Shift Cable If the full ran ge of speed s (for ward and rev erse ) cannot be achi ev ed, refer to the figures to the r ight and adjust the shif t cab le as follows: 1 .

14 6 Maintaining Y our Snow Thr o wer W ARNING Before lubr icating, repairing, or i nspect- ing, disengage al l controls and s top engine. W ait un til all mo ving parts hav e come to a complete stop . Run the engine completely dry of gasoline before tipping sn owthrower .
15 6 Maintaining Y our Snow Thr o wer 2. Carefully pivot the snow t hrower up and forward so that it rests o n the auger housin g. Remove the frame cover from the under side of the s now thrower by removing sel f-tapping sc rews which sec ure it. See Figure 6 -5.
16 Drive Belt Replacement W ARN ING : R un the engi ne com - plet ely dry o f gasoline b efore t ipping snowthrower. T o remove and repl ace your snow thrower’s auger belt, proce ed as follows: 1 . Remove the plast ic belt cover on the front of th e engine by removin g the two self-t apping sc rews.
17 NOTE : If you’re replacin g the frict ion wheel as sembly as a whole, di scard the worn p art and s lide the new par t onto the hex shaf t. Follow the steps ab ov e in reverse order to reas semble co mponents. If you’re disass em- bling th e frictio n wheel and rep lacing only t he rubber ring, pro ceed as follows : 6.

14 6 Régime d’entretien Débrayez t outes les commandes et ar- rêtez le moteur a v ant de lubrifier , de ré - parer ou d’ inspecter la souffleuse.
13 5 Réglages Il est déconseillé d’ util iser la souffleuse sur une s urface recouverte de gravier qui, s ’ il est projet é par la tarière, peut causer des blessures cor- porelles et des dégats matériels. P atins L ’ espace entre l a lame plate et le sol peut être aju sté en ajustant le s patins.
12 5 Réglages Commande de la tarière Repor tez- vous au test de la co mmande d e la tarière, page 1 1 , pour ajuster la tar ière. Câble de changement de vitesses Si vous ne pouvez utiliser tou te la gamme des v itesses (avant et arrière) , consu ltez les illustrations sur l a droite et effec tuez les réglages su ivants : 1 .
11 3. Débrayez la comman de de la tari ère ; le mécanis me de blo cage mainti ent la tarière eng agée jusqu’à ce que la co mmande de l a transmis sion soit dé bray ée. 4. Lâch ez la command e de la transmi ssion pour arrêter la tarière et l es roues.
10 Pleins d’essence et d’huile V érifiez le niveau d’huile et d’essence et ajou ter au besoin. Su ive z les instr uction s fournies dans la n otice d’utilisatio n du moteur qui acco mpagne la sou ffleuse. V euillez lire ces instr uction s attentivement.
9 Commande de la tarière Elle se trouve sur le guid on gauch e . Serrez la co mmande de la tar ière contre le gui don pour emb ray er la tarière et pour dé blay er la neig e. Lâchez-la pour arrêter . Blocage de la commande de trans- mission/des tarières (le cas échéant) Elle se trouve sur la droite d u guidon.
