5 SECTION 2: ASSEMBLING YOUR SNOW THROWER NOTE: Any r eference in this manual to the left or right side of the s now thr ower is ob served from the operator ’s position . Unpacking • Remove s crews from th e top sides an d ends of th e ship ping cr ate.

Final Adjustments Auger C ontrol Adjust ment Check the ad justm ent of the auger control as follows: • Push for ward on the aug er con trol until the smal l rubber bumpe r cont acts the uppe r handle.
7 If the machin e can be mo ved fre ely both for ward and rearward whe n the traction c ontrol ful ly depress ed, proceed as fol lows: • Loosen th e jam nut on th e tract ion drive ca ble and THREAD the cable in one fu ll turn. • Rechec k the adju stmen t and repeat adj ustme nt as necessar y.
8 Headlight The headl ight is on whe never the engin e is runni ng. Shif t Lever The shif t lever is loc ated in th e center of the handle panel and is used to de termine bo th ground sp eed and directi on of trave l. It can be mo ved in to any of eight position s.
9 • A plas tic cup is provid ed insi de the fuel fill openi ng on the fuel tank . Remove and di scard this cup before fi lling up t he tank . Use the se parat e fuel ta nk cap to clos e after fill -up. T o Start Engine NOTE: If unit shows any sign of mo tion (d rive or augers) with the cl utch g rips disen gaged, s hut eng ine off immedi ately.
10 T o Engage T rack Driv e • With the en gine runni ng near t op speed, mov e the shift lever into one of the si x FORWARD po sitio ns or two REVE RSE positi ons. Sele ct a spee d appropria te for the snow c onditi ons that exi st. NOTE: Use slower speeds i n higher s now and until you are familiar with the oper ation of th e snow throwe r.
11 Chute Dir ectional Control And Support Bracket Adjustment If the spir al at t he base of t he chut e direct iona l contr ol is not fully en gaging with the notc hes in t he lower chu te assembl y, .
12 Drive and Shifting M echanism Lubricate at le ast onc e a season or after every 25 hou rs of operati on. Remove the rear cover , lubrica te any chains, sprock ets, gears , bearings, s hafts, an d shifting mechani sm a t least once a seas on. Use e ngine oil or a spray l ubrican t.
13 IMPORT ANT: NEVER r eplace the auger s hear bo lts with standa rd hex bol ts. Any da mage to th e auger gear box or other com ponent s as a result of doi ng so will NOT be cove red by your s now thrower ’ s warranty .
