Windshield Mounting • Install the two suction cups and rubber bumper o nto the bracket by fitting them into their holes. • Press the suction cups onto the windshield at the location you have chosen. Important: S ome newer cars have a plastic safety coating on the inside of the wi nd sh ie ld .
City/City 1/City 2 Mode W histler’ s Three Stage City Mode is designed to r edu ce the annoyance of automatic door o p e n e r s , i nt rus io n alarms and other devices which s h a r e f r e q u e n c i e s wi th pol ic e radar . Generally , X b and is used for these devices.
Filter Mode There are times when a radar detector in another vehicle, can unintentionally emit a frequency w hich can cause your detector to falsely alarm. The Whistler Filter Mode options provide additional signal pro cessing to minimize the o ccurrences of these false alarms.
OPERA TION Alert Priority W hen two or more signals are r eceived at the same time, the alert priority is: 1 . Laser 2 . S peed Radar 3 . Safety Radar E xample: I f X band is alerting, then suddenly a l aser signal is detected, the laser warning will over r ide the X band alert.
POP ™ Mode Alerts B ecause POP ™ M ode radar utilizes the same K or Ka band frequencies, POP ™ Mode Alerts will be d isplayed as r egular radar alerts. LASER/RADAR ALERTS Speed Radar Audio/Visual Alerts When X, K or Ka is detected, the band ID and signal strength are displayed.
POP™ Mode POP ™ Mode is a feature on some newer radar guns operating on K and Ka bands. When the gun is in POP ™ Mode and activated, a brief burst of energy , less that 1/15 of a second, is transmitted and the veh icle’ s speed is quickly acquired.
