A W or d About WHISTLER Power Inver ters. WHISTLER inver ters convert low voltage, dir ect cur r ent (DC) to 110 volt alter nating household cur r ent (AC). The AC output is called “modified sine wave”. See “T echnical Operating Principles” section for mor e infor mation.
INVER TER BASICS Getting Started Power equipment and appliances which operate with motors or tubes r equir e an initial sur ge of power to get them up and r unning. This power sur ge is r efer r ed to as the "star ting load" or "peak load.

OPERA TION Making the Connection. This inver ter is designed to connect to your 12 volt batter y using the lighter socket plug or by the supplied batter y cables (for appliances over 150 watts, 400 watt model only). 1. Make cer tain that the inver ter r ocker switch is in the OFF (O) position.
• The use of an extension cor d fr om the inver ter to the appliance or equipment being operated will decr ease the power being deliever ed to the load. For best operating r esults, the extension cor d should be no mor e than 50 feet long. • Check frequently to ensur e that the input and output connections ar e secur e.
13 ADDITIONAL FEA TURES Automatic Shut Down & Related Safety Featur es. Each inver ter has an unique LED indicator war ning light system which operates in conjunction with the automatic shut down featur e . These indicator lights operate as follows: GREEN LED: System r eady .
2. Low Batter y V oltage Alar m/Shutdown Pr otection a) When the input voltage fr om the 12 volt power sour ce dr ops below 10.5 volts, an audible tone will be hear d. This is the low battery voltage alar m. b) The inverter will automatically shut down when the input voltage dr ops below 10 volts.
