P age 8 XL T 020111 C utting the Hole for the WhisperK OOL Unit T ools Needed Sizing the Unit to the Room • U sing a lev el and a pencil, mark a horizontal line on the wall between the two studs, approximat ely 1.25 inches (or as close as possible if more than 1.
P age 9 XL T 020111 • Once the horiz ontal lines have been cut, make ver tical cuts using the inside edge of the studs as a guide. Once you ha ve made both ver tical cuts , you should have a rec tangular hole in the sheetr ock . Now you have to make the same hole on the other side of the wall.
P age 10 XL T 020111 Electric al Needs The WhisperKOOL S ystem requires a dedicat ed 110-volt 20-amp circuit. The unit dra ws a large amount of amps at initial start up. By designating a dedicated cir cuit breaker , you will guaran tee the unit has enough power t o run effectively .
P age 11 XL T 020111 Carefully r emove your WhisperK OOL unit from the box. Do not destroy your pack ing mat erial, as it provides the only safe means of transporting the unit. Units weigh 65–100 pounds and are cumbersome for one person to carr y . We rec ommend that you get someone else to help you during the installation process .

This will restrict the airflow and may affec t the unit ’ s ability to function properly . Periodically cleaning the unit’ s vents will help assure maximum cooling efficienc y .

The WhisperKOOL unit does create a large amount of heat, which needs to dissipate away from the unit fr eely in order to cool correctly.
P age 21 XL T 020111 Unit Mounting Mounting the unit in the cellar has a significant impact on the unit ’ s ability to cool the air in the room. A la w of nature sta tes that warm air rises while cool air falls. The unit must be mounted high in the r oom in order to capture the warm air and replace with cool air .

P age 26 XL T 020111 The purpose of this test is to evalua te whether or not your cooling unit is operating correctly by mea- suring the temperatures of both the inside of the c ellar and the exhaust side of the unit in the adjoin- ing room.
