5 COOKTOP USE Cooktop C ontrols The control knobs can be set to anywhere betw een HI and LO. Push in an d tur n to setting. Use th e following c hart as a guide when se tting he at levels . Cooktop On Indicator Lights Each set of con trol knobs, left a nd right of th e oven control, have a Cooktop On indicator light .
6 To R e m o v e : 1. Push in th e edge of coil element toward the receptac le. Then lift it en ough to clear the bur ner bowl . 2. Pull the c oil elem ent straight away from the receptacle. 3. Lift out the bu rner bowl . T o Replace: 1. Line up openi ngs in the bur ner bowl with the coil eleme nt receptacle.
7 ■ Use cookware about the sa me size as the surface cooki ng are a. Cookwar e should not e xtend mo re th an ½" (1.3 c m) outside th e area. ■ Use flat-bott omed cookware for best heat conducti on and energy ef ficiency . Cookware with rounded, warped, ribbe d or dented bo ttoms could cause u neven heati ng and poor cooking results.
8 ELECTRONIC OVEN CONTROL Disp lay When power is supplied to the range or after a power interruption, the last clock t i me be fore powe r was interrup ted will flash. Bake or Lock may flash rapidly in th e display to alert you if t here is a n err or or p roble m.
9 T o Cance l t he Cl oc k Di splay: If you do not wa nt the t ime of day t o display: Press and hold CANCE L and CLOCK for 3 seconds. The time of day wil l disapp ear from the disp lay . When the cl ock display is canceled, press CL OCK to briefly displa y the t ime of day .
10 OVEN USE Odors and smoke are normal when the oven is u sed the first few times, or when it is heavi ly soiled . IMPORT AN T : The health of some birds is extremely sensi tive to the f umes given off. Expo sur e to t he fume s may r esult in death to certain birds.
11 Oven V ent The oven vent releases h ot air and moistu re fr om t he oven, and should not be blocked or cover ed. Blocking or covering the vent will cause poor ai r circulation, affectin g cooking and cleanin g results. Do not set plast ics, paper or oth er items that could melt or burn near the oven vent.
12 T o Set a Delayed Cook & Hold cycle: Before setting, make su re the clock is set to t he correct time of day . See “Clock” sect ion. 1. Pre s s DE LA Y . “DELA Y” will flash, and “00:00” will appe ar in the dis play . 2. Press the “up” or “down” arrow pad t o set a delay time.
13 Automa tic Shutoff / Sabbath Mode The oven will automa tically tur n off after 12 hours if you unintentio nally leave i t on. This feature can be tur ned off to enable Sa bbath Mode . ■ Sabbath M ode can be turned on at a ny t ime with or wi thout the oven on.
14 How the Cy cle W orks IMPORT AN T : The heating and c ooling of porcelain on steel in the oven may re sult in discoloring, loss of gl oss, hairline cracks and poppi ng soun ds. The Self-Cleani ng cycle uses very h igh temperatures, bur ning soil to a powdery as h.
15 CERAMIC GLASS (on s ome models) T o avoid damage to the cooktop, do not use steel wool, abras ive powder cleansers, chlorine bleach , rust remover or ammonia. Cleaning Method: Always wipe wi th a clean, wet cloth or sponge and dry thorough l y to avoid st reaking and staini ng.
16 OVEN CA VITY - STAND ARD-CL EAN (on some models) Food spills should be cleaned when ov en cools. At high temperatures, foods react with porcelain an d stainin g, etching, pittin g or faint wh ite spots ca n resu lt. On some m odels, the oven door can be r emoved.
