6 COOKTOP USE Cooktop Controls Electric ign iters au tomatically light the su rfac e bur ners when control knobs are turned to LIGHT . Before setting a control knob, p lace filled cookw ar e on the grate. Do not operate a bur ner using empty cookware or while the grate is unoccupi ed.
7 To C l e a n : IMPORT AN T : Before clean i ng, make sure all controls are of f and the oven and c ooktop are cool. Do not use ov en cleaners, bleach or ru st remo vers . 1. Remove the bur ner cap from the bur ner base and clean according to “General Cleaning” sect ion.
8 ELECTR ONIC OV EN CONTR OL Ov en Indicator Light s The indicat or lights are located to th e left of, and wi thin the display . The indicator lights light up or flash when t he oven is in one of the following mode s: BAKE, BR OIL, ST ART?, ON, TIMER, COOK TIME/TIMED cooking (on some models), and ST ART TIME/DELA Y cooking (on some models).
9 A minus sign mean s the oven will be cooler by th e displaye d amount. No sign means the oven will be warmer by the displ ayed amount. Use the foll owing char t as a guide. 10 Ov en V ent 1. Oven Vent The oven vent releases h ot air and moistu re fr om the oven, and should not be blocked or cover ed. Doing so wi ll cause poor air circulation, affectin g cooking and clean ing results. Never se t plastics, paper or other items that could melt or burn near th e oven vent.
11 Timed Co oking (on some models) Timed Cooking allows the oven to b e set to turn on at a certain time of day , cook for a se t length of time, and/or shu t off automatical ly . Delay st art should not b e used for food such as breads and cakes bec ause they may n ot bake properly .
