Before setting a control knob, p lace filled cookw ar e on the grat e. Do not operate a bur ner using empty cookware or without cookware on th e grate.
7 To C l e a n : IMPORT AN T : Before cleani ng, make sure all controls are of f and the oven and c ooktop are cool. Do not use ov en cleaners, bleach or ru st remo vers . 1. Remove the surfac e bur ner grates. 2. Remove bur ner cap from the bur ner base an d clean according to “ Gen eral C lea ning ” s ection.
8 OVEN USE Odors and smoke are normal when the oven is u sed the first few times, or when it is heavi ly soiled . IMPORT AN T : The health of some birds is extremely sensi tive to the f umes given off. Expo sur e to t he fume s may r esult in death to certain birds.
9 Baking and Roa s ting Do not place food or cookwar e directly on t h e oven door or the oven bottom. Before baking an d roasting, posit ion the racks according to th e “ Positioning Racks an d Bakeware ” section. When roasting , it is not necess ary to wait for the oven to preheat before put ting food in, u nless r ecomm ended in the r ecipe.
10 RANGE CARE Removing th e Oven Bottom The oven bottom can be removed for st andard cleaning of the oven. Before cleaning, make sure the oven i s completely cool. To R e m o v e : 1. Remove the ove n racks. 2. Place f ingers in th e slots in the botto m panel.
11 OVEN CA VIT Y Do not use oven cleaners . Food spills should be cleaned when ov en cools. At high temperatures, foods react with porcelain an d stainin g, etching, pittin g or faint wh ite spots ca n resu lt. Cleaning Method: ■ Mil d cl eaner an d non corr osive scrubbin g pad.
