10 Ov en V ent 1. Oven Vent The oven vent releases h ot air and moisture from the oven, and should not be blocked or cover ed. Doing so wi ll cause poor air circulation, affectin g cooking and cleaning results . Never set plastics, paper or other items that c ould melt or burn n ear the oven vent.
11 BROILING CHART For best res ults, place food 3 in. (7 cm) or mor e from the broil element. Time s are gu ideline s only and may need t o be adjusted for individual foods and tastes. Recommen ded rack positions ar e numbered from the bottom (1) to the top (5).
12 BROILER P AN AND GRID Do not clean in the Self-Cl eaning cycle (on some models). ■ Mildly abrasive cleanse r: Scrub with wet scour ing pad. ■ Solution of ¹₂ cup ( 125 mL) ammonia t o 1 gal. ( 3.75 L) wate r: Soak for 20 minutes, th en scrub with scouring or stee l-wool pad.
