3 RANGE SAFETY The Anti-Tip Br acket The range will no t tip during normal use. However , the range can tip if you appl y too much force or weight to the open d oor wit hou t th e anti-tip bracket fastened down p roperly . You can be killed or seriously injured if you don't immediately follow instructions.

5 ■ Keep Oven V ent Ducts Unobstructed. ■ Placement of Oven Racks – Always place oven racks in desired location while oven is cool. If rack must be moved while oven is hot, do not let potholder contact hot heating element in oven.

7 COOKTOP USE Cooktop C ontrols The control knobs can be se t anywhe r e betw een HI and LO. Push in and turn to setting. The surface cooking ar ea locator shows which ele ment is tur ned on. Use the foll owing chart as a guide when se tting he at levels .
8 Coil Elemen ts a nd Bur ner Bowls (on s ome models) Coil elements should be level for optimal cooking r e sults. Burner bowls, when cl ean, reflect heat back to t he cookware. They also help cat ch s pill s. Cookwar e sh ould not exte nd mor e than 1 in.
9 Cookware IMPORT AN T : Neve r leave empty cookware on a hot surface cooking area, element or surface burne r . Ideal cookw a r e should h a ve a flat bottom, s t raight s ides, a well- fitting lid and the material should be of medium-to-heavy thick ness.
10 Clock On som e models, i f you do not wan t the c lock time t o be displa yed, press and hold th e CLOCK pad (button) for 5 seconds. When the clock is not displayed, you can see the time for 5 second s by pressing the CLOCK pad (butto n). To S e t : Before setting, make sure the oven, TIMER and COOK TIME ar e off.
11 P ositioning Racks and Bakeware IMPORT AN T : Neve r place food or bakeware directly on the oven door or bottom. Permanent da mage will occur to the por celain finish. RACKS Position racks before turning the oven on. Do not move racks with ba kewar e on th em.
12 Oven V ent 1. Oven Ve n t (coil eleme nt model) 1. Oven Vent (ceramic glass model) The oven vent releases h ot air and moistu re fr om t he oven, and should not be blocked or cover ed. Doing so will cause poor air circulation, affectin g cooking and clean ing results.
13 BROILING CHART For best res ults, place food 3 in. (7 cm) or mor e from the broil element. Time s are guidelines on ly and may need t o be adjus ted for individual foods and tast es. Recommended rac k positions are numbered from the bottom (1) to the top (5).
14 Prepare Cooktop and Storage Drawer: ■ Remove plast ic items from the cooktop be cause the y may melt. ■ Remove all items fr om the storage drawer . 15 Bur ned -on soil ■ Cooktop Polishing Creme and Cooktop Scraper: Rub cr eme into soil with damp paper towel. Hold scraper as flat as pos sible on surface and sc rape.
16 Oven Light The oven light is a standard 40-wa tt applian ce bulb. It wil l come on when the oven door is open. It w ill not work during the Self- Cleaning cy c le. On some models, wh e n th e oven door is cl osed, press OV EN LIGHT to turn it on or off.
