6 COOKTOP USE Cooktop C ontrols The control knobs can be set to anywh ere between HI and LO. Push in a nd turn to se tting . On some mod els, the surface cooking area locator shows which element is turned on . Use the following chart as a guide when settin g heat levels .
7 Lift-up C ooktop (on some mode ls) The lift- up cooktop provides e asy access for clean ing bene ath. Do not drop the cooktop. Damage could occur to th e finish and the cooktop frame. For more information, see t he “General Cleaning” s ection. To L i f t : Lift the coo ktop by both f ront cor ners u ntil the sup ports l ock i nto place.
8 OVEN USE Odors and smoke are normal when the oven is u sed the first few times, or when it is heavily soiled . IMPORT AN T : The health of some birds is extremely sensi tive to the f umes given off. Expo sur e to the fume s may r e sul t in death to certain birds.
9 Mea t The rmome ter Use a meat thermometer to determin e doneness of meat, poultry and fish. The intern al temperat ure, not appearanc e, should be used to determin e doneness.
10 BROILING CHART For best res ults, place food 3" (7 cm) or mor e from the br oil element. Time s are guidelines on ly and may need t o be adjus ted for individual foods and tast es. Recommended rac k positions are numbered from the bottom (1) to the top (5).
11 BURNER BOWLS Cleaning Method: ■ Solution of ¹₂ cup ( 125 mL) a mmonia to 1 gal . (3.75 L) water: Soak for 2 0 minut es, then sc rub with stainl ess steel-w ool pad. ■ Oven cleaner: Follow product labe l instruction s. ■ Mildly abrasive clean ser: Scrub with wet scourin g pad.
12 Storage D rawer The storage drawer c an be r emoved. Before removing, make sure drawer is cool and empt y . To R e m o v e : 1. Pull the storage drawer straig ht back past th e drawer stop notch and th e end of the sid e rails. 2. Lift up the bac k of the drawer and pu ll the drawer out.
