Check for damage such as a door that isn’t lined up corr ectly , damage around the door , or dents inside the oven or on the exterior .

In the event of an electrical short circuit, gr ounding reduces the risk of electric shock by pr oviding an escape wire for the electric curr ent.

8 GETTING TO KNOW Y OUR MICROWA VE OVEN • Never cook or reheat a whole egg inside the shell. Steam buildup in whole eggs may cause them to burst, and possibly damage the oven. Slice hard-boiled eggs befor e heating. In rare cases, poached eggs have been known to explode.

12 GETTING TO KNOW Y OUR MICROWA VE OVEN S ETTING THE CLOCK When you first plug in your microwave oven, the display shows “ : ”. If the electric power ever goes off, the display will again show “ : ” when the power comes back on.
13 C OOKING A T HIGH COOK POWER 1. Put the food in the oven and close the door . 2. T ouch COOK TIME. Display will show “ENTER COOKING TIME.” 3. T ouch number pads for desired time. For example, for 10 minutes touch “1 0 0 0” 4. T ouch ST ART .
14 MICROWA VE OVEN USE C OOKING WITH MORE THAN ONE COOK CYCLE For best results, some r ecipes call for one cook power for a certain length of time, and another cook power for another length of time. Y our oven can be set to change from one power level to another automatically , for up to 3 cycles plus a defrost cycle.
15 MICROWA VE OVEN USE EZ-CHOICE COOKING FEA TURE CHARTS ® DIRECTIONS • Arrange food on microwavable plate. Place meaty portions and bulky vegetables to outside of plate. • Cover with plastic wrap. • V ent. • After reheating, let stand for 2 minutes.
MICROWA VE OVEN USE U SING AUTO DEFROST Y ou can defrost food by choosing a category and setting a weight. AUTO DEFROST has preset times and cook powers for 3 categories: Meat, Poultry , and Fish. 1. T ouch AUTO DEFROST . Display will show “DEF-1 TOUCH 1 DEF-2 TOUCH 2 DEF-3 TOUCH 3.
17 MICROWA VE OVEN USE A UTO COOKING CHART A UTO COOKING Y ou can automatically pop popcorn, heat beverages or reheat pizza just by touching POPCORN, BEVERAGE OR PIZZA. See the “Auto cooking chart” section and follow the directions. DIRECTIONS • Place the refrigerated pizza on the plate in the center of the microwave oven.
18 MICROWA VE OVEN USE U SING JET ST ART™ F EA TURE The JET ST ART feature lets you cook food for 30 seconds at 100% cook power or , during any manual program you can use it to add 30-second incr ements.
19 M ICROW A VE COOKING TIPS C OOKING G UIDE Amount of food • If you increase or decr ease the amount of food you prepar e, the time it takes to cook that food will also change. For example, if you double a recipe, add a little more than half the original cooking time.
20 M ICROW A VE COOKING TIPS ( CONT . ) Using aluminum foil Metal containers should not be used in a microwave oven. There ar e, however , some exceptions. If you have purchased food which is pr epackaged in an aluminum foil container , refer to the instructions on the package.
21 ANSWERS No. If you remove or turn over the turntable, you will get poor cooking results. Dishes used in your oven must fit on the turntable. Y ou can use a rack only if the rack is supplied with your microwave oven. If you use a rack not supplied with the microwave oven, you can get poor cooking performance and/or arcing.
22 If none of these items are causing your pr oblem, see the “Requesting Assistance or Service” section. PROBLEM The microwave oven will not run. Microwave cooking times seem too long. The turntable will not turn. The display shows a time counting down but the oven is not cooking.
