5 I NST ALLA TION I NSTRUCTIONS Before you begin operating the oven, car efully r ead the following instructions. 1. Empty the microwave oven and clean inside it with a soft, damp cloth. Check for damage such as a door that isn’t lined up corr ectly , damage around the door , or dents inside the oven or on the exterior .
6 INST ALLA TION INSTRUCTIONS E LECTRICAL REQUIREMENTS ( CONT . ) GROUNDING INSTRUCTIONS • For all cord connected appliances: The microwave oven must be gr ounded. In the event of an electrical short circuit, gr ounding reduces the risk of electric shock by pr oviding an escape wire for the electric curr ent.

8 GETTING TO KNOW Y OUR MICROWA VE OVEN • Steam buildup in whole eggs may cause them to burst and damage the oven. Cover poached eggs and allow a standing time. • Heated liquids can splash out during and after heating. Use of a wooden stir stick placed in the cup or bowl during heating may help to avoid this.

T o turn off automatic start of EZ-CHOICE cook: Y ou will now have to touch ST ART/ENTER to start EZ-CHOICE cooking. T o set up your microwave oven to start without the ST ART/ENTER pad, repeat this step.
12 GETTING TO KNOW Y OUR MICROWA VE OVEN When you first plug in your microwave oven, the display shows “0”. If the electric power ever goes off, the display will again show “0” when the power comes back on. NOTES: • Y ou can cook without setting the clock, but the display will not show the correct time of day after cooking.

16 MICROWA VE OVEN USE 3. Set the cook power for the first cycle. Example for 50% cook power: 4. Repeat Steps 2 and 3 to set the cooking time and cook power for each additional cycle. 5. Start the oven. After the first cycle is over , 2 tones sound and the next cycle(s) will count down.
DIRECTIONS • Follow package directions. • Use a popcorn package which is made especially for microwave cooking. • Do not try to pop unpopped kernels. • Pop only 1 package at a time. • Do not leave the microwave oven unattended while popping popcorn.
EZ-CHOICE ® COOKING FEA TURE CHART ( CONT . ) NOTE: If you touch an EZ-CHOICE featur e pad more than the times shown in this chart, the display r eturns to the first serving size. DIRECTIONS • Place the refrigerated pizza on the plate in the center of the microwave oven.
Auto defrost chart This chart shows you how to choose a type of food and the weights you can set for each type. For best results, loosen or r emove covering on food. Y ou can defrost food by choosing a category and setting a weight. AUTO DEFROST has preset times and cook powers for 3 categories: Meat, Poultry , and Fish.
U SING AUTO DEFROST ( CONT . ) Weight conversion chart Y ou are pr obably used to food weights as being in pounds and ounces that are fractions of a pound (for example, 4 ounces equals 1 ⁄ 4 pound). However , in order to enter food weight in AUTO DEFROST , you must specify pounds and tenths of a pound.
U SING JET ST ART™ FEA TURE The JET ST ART feature lets you cook food for 30 seconds at 100% cook power . NOTES: • Each time you touch the JET ST ART featur e pad, it will add 30 seconds up to 3 minutes, then will add 1 minute up to a total of 99 minutes, 59 seconds.
M ICROW A VE COOKING TIPS C OOKING G UIDE Amount of food • If you increase or decr ease the amount of food you prepar e, the time it takes to cook that food will also change. For example, if you double a recipe, add a little more than half the original cooking time.
M ICROW A VE COOKING TIPS ( CONT . ) Using aluminum foil Metal containers should not be used in a microwave oven. There ar e, however , some exceptions. If you have purchased food which is pr epackaged in an aluminum foil container , refer to the instructions on the package.
ANSWERS No. If you remove or turn over the turntable, you will get poor cooking results. Dishes used in your oven must fit on the turntable. Y ou can use a rack only if the rack is supplied with your microwave oven. If you use a rack not supplied with the microwave oven, you can get poor cooking performance and/or arcing.
