6 COOKTOP USE Cooktop Control s Electric ign iters automatical ly light th e surface bur ners wh en control knobs are turned t o LITE. Before setting a control knob, p lace filled cookw are on the grate. Do not operate a b urn er using em pty cookware or without having cookware on th e grate.
7 To C l e a n : IMPORT ANT : Before cleaning, make su re all controls are of f and the oven and c ooktop are cool. Do not u se oven cleane rs, bleach or ru s t remo ver s. 1. Remove the bur ner cap from the burner base and clean according to “ Gen eral Clea ning ” section.
8 ELECTR ONIC O V EN CONTR OLS Style 1 - Electro nic Oven Controls (on some models) Style 2 - Electro nic Oven Controls (on some models) Display When power is first suppli ed to the appliance , “ PF ” or a flashing time will appear on the display .
9 F ahrenheit and Celsius The temperature is prese t at Fahrenheit, bu t can be cha nged to Cels ius. T o Change: Press and hold CUSTOM BROIL for 5 seconds. A tone wi ll soun d, and “° C ” will app ear on the displ ay . Repeat to change back to Fahrenheit .
10 OV E N U S E Odors and smoke are normal when the oven is u sed the first few times, or when it is heavily soiled. IMPORT ANT : The heal th of some bi rds is extremely sensi tive to the f umes gi ven of f. Exposur e to t he fume s may r esult in de ath to certain birds.
11 Bak ew are The bakeware mat erial affects cooking re sults. Follow manufact urer ’ s recommenda tions and use t he bakeware size recommended in the recipe. Use the following ch art as a guide. Meat Thermometer On models wit hout a temperatu re probe, use a meat thermometer to determine donenes s of meat, poultry and fish.
12 Broiling and Custo m Broiling Broiling uses dir ec t radiant heat to cook food. Ch anging the temperature when Cu stom Broiling allows more precise control when cooking. The lower th e temperature, the slowe r the cooking. Thicker cut s and unevenly shaped pi eces of meat, fis h and poultry may cook better at lower broiling te mperatures.
13 T o Set a Del ayed Tim ed Cook : Before setting, make su re the clock is set to t he correct time of day . See “ Cloc k ” section. 1. Press desir ed cook function. 2. Press the TEMP “ up ” or “ down ” arr ow pads to en ter a temperatu re other than the one displaye d.
14 ■ Wipe out any loose soil to reduce smoke and avoid damage. At high temperat ures, foods react with porcelain. Staining, etching, pitting or faint whit e spots can r esult. This will not affect cooking performance. Prepare Cooktop and Storage Drawer: ■ Remove plast ic items from the cooktop be cause the y may melt.

16 Ov en Lig ht The oven light is a standard 40- watt applian ce bulb. It will come on when the oven door i s open. When the oven door is closed, pre ss LIGHT to t urn it on or off. It w ill not work duri ng the Self - Cleaning c ycle. T o replace: 1.
17 Storage Draw er The storage drawer c an be removed. Before r emoving, make su re drawer is cool and empt y . To R e m o v e : 1. Pull the storage drawer straig ht back past th e drawer stop notch and th e end of the side rails. 2. Lift up the bac k of the drawer and pu ll the drawer out .
18 Oven will not operate ■ Is this the first time th e oven has been used? T ur n on any one of the su rface bur ner knobs to release air from the gas lines. ■ Is the electronic oven contr ol set correctly? See “ Elect ronic Oven Controls ” sect ion.
