Check for damage such as a door that isn’t lined up corr ectly , damage around the door , or dents inside the oven or on the exterior .

In the event of an electrical short circuit, gr ounding reduces the risk of electric shock by pr oviding an escape wire for the electric curr ent.

Please r ead this information befor e you use your oven. F OR THE BEST COOKING RESULTS • Always cook food for the shortest cooking time recommended.
8 GETTING TO KNOW YOUR MICROW A VE O VEN • Never cook or reheat a whole egg inside the shell. Steam buildup in whole eggs may cause them to burst, and possibly damage the oven. Slice hard-boiled eggs befor e heating. In rar e cases, poached eggs have been known to explode.

12 S ETTING THE CLOCK When you first plug in your microwave oven, the display tells you to “PLEASE SET TIME OF DA Y.” Then the display shows “:”. If the electric power ever goes off, the display will r epeat this message when the power comes back on.
Example for 1 minute, 30 seconds: Display scrolls the wor ds “TOUCH ST ART OR POWER” 3. T ouch ST ART/ENTER. 4. At the end of the cooking time: Display will show “END” and 4 tones will sound. 13 C OOKING A T HIGH COOK POWER 1. Put the food in the oven and close the door .

At end of cooking time: Display will show “END” and 4 tones will sound. 15 USING YOUR MICROW A VE OVEN U SING AUTO COOK AUTO COOK lets you cook common microwave- prepar ed foods without needing to set times and cook powers.
16 USING YOUR MICROW A VE OVEN U SING AUTO DEFROST Y ou can defrost food by choosing a category and set- ting a weight. AUTO DEFROST has preset times and cook powers for 3 categories: Meat, Poultry , and Fish. 1. Put the food in the oven and close the door .
17 USING YOUR MICROW A VE OVEN • Use small pieces of aluminum foil to shield par ts of food such as chicken wings, leg tips, fish tails, or areas that start to get warm. Make sur e the foil does not touch the sides, top, or bottom of the oven. The foil can damage the oven lining.
18 S ENSOR C OOKING Y our microwave oven has a sensor that detects the humidity released by the food. The amount of humidity detected tells the oven how long to cook or heat your food. The sensor is used by 3 special functions: SENSOR COOK, SENSOR REHEA T , and SENSOR POPCORN.
19 SENSOR COOKING AMOUNT 1 to 3 cups 1 ⁄ 4 to 2 lbs 1 ⁄ 4 to 2 lbs 1 to 4 eggs 1 to 2 servings INSTRUCTIONS Combine the ingredients per the r ecipe in a 1- to 2-quart casserole. Cover with plastic wrap and vent. After cooking is complete, allow 5 minutes standing time.
20 SENSOR COOKING DIRECTIONS • Follow package directions. • Use a popcorn package which is made especially for microwave cooking. • Do not try to pop unpopped kernels. • Pop only 1 package at a time. • Do not leave the microwave oven unattended while popping pop- corn.
21 M ICROW A VE COOKING TIPS C OOKING G UIDE Amount of food • If you increase or decr ease the amount of food you prepar e, the time it takes to cook that food will also change. For example, if you double a recipe, add a little more than half the original cooking time.
22 M ICROW A VE COOKING TIPS ( CONT . ) Using aluminum foil Metal containers should not be used in a microwave oven. There ar e, however , some exceptions. If you have purchased food which is pr epackaged in an aluminum foil container , refer to the instructions on the package.
23 ANSWERS No. If you remove or turn over the turntable, you will get poor cooking results. Dishes used in your oven must fit on the turntable. Y ou can use a rack only if the rack is supplied with your microwave oven. If you use a rack not supplied with the microwave oven, you can get poor cooking performance and/or arcing.
