7 English Getting Started Connecting the Projector Note: To ensure the projector works well with your comp uter, please make sure the timing of the display mode is compatible with the projector.
8 English Turning the Projector On/Off Turning On the Projector 1 Remove the len s cap. 2 Ensure that the power co rd and signal cable ar e securely connected. The Power LED will flash red. 3 Turn on the proje ctor by pressing (POWER) on the contr ol panel or remote control, and the Power indicator LED will turn blue.
9 English Turning Off the Projector 1 To turn off the projec tor, press (POWER) tw ice. The message below will display onscr een for 10 seconds. "Please press power button again to complete the shutdown process.
10 English Adjusting the Projected Image Adjusting the Height of Projected Image The projector is equipped with an elevator foot for adjusting the image height. To raise the imag e: 1 Press the elevator button. 2 Raise the image to the desi red height angle, then rel ease the button to lock the elevator foot into position.
11 English How to Optimize Image Size and Distance Consult the table below to find the optimal im age sizes achievable when the projector is positioned at a desired distance from the screen. • X1130/X1230 If the projector is 3 m from the screen, good image quality is possible for image sizes between 72" and 79".
12 English • X1230S If the projector is 3 m from the screen, good image quality is possible for image sizes around 164". Note: Remind as below figure, the space of 275 cm height is required when located at 3 m distance.
13 English How to Get a Preferred Image Size by Adjusting Distance and Zoom The table below shows how to ach ieve a desired image size by ad justing either the position or the zoom ring. • X1130/X1230 To obtain an image size of 50" set the projector at a distance 1.
14 English • X1230S To obtain an image size of 50" set the projector at a distance 0.9 m from the screen and adjust the zoom level accord ingly. 15 English User Controls Installation Menu The installation menu provides an on screen display (OSD) for projector installation a nd ma inte nance. Use the OSD on ly when the message "No signal input" is disp layed on the screen. 1 Turn on the proje ctor by pressing (POWER) on the contr ol panel or remote control.
16 English Acer Empowering Technology Empowering Key Acer Empowering Key provides three Acer unique functions: "Acer eView Management", "Acer eTimer Management", and "Acer ePower Management". Press " " for more than one second to launch th e Onscreen Display main menu to modify its function.
17 English Onscreen Display (OSD) Menus The projector has multilin gual Onscreen Display (OSD) menus that allow you to make i mage adjustments an d change a variety of settings. Using the OSD menus • To open the OSD menu, press "MENU" on the control p anel or remote control.
18 English Color Display Mode There are many factory presets optimized for various types of images. • Bright: For br ightness optimizati on. • Standard: For common envir onment. • Video: For pla ying vide o in a bright e nvironment . • Blackboard : Blackbo ard mode ca n improve d isplayed color when you project onto darker surfaces.
19 English Note: "Saturation" a nd "Tint" functions a re not supported under compu ter mode. Image Saturation Adjusts a video image from black and white to fully saturated colors. • Press to decrease the amount of color in the image.
20 English Rear-Ceiling • When you select this function, the projector reverses and inverts the image at same time. You can project from behind a translucent screen with ceiling mounted projectio n. Aspect Ratio Use this function to choose your desired aspect ratio.
21 English Note: "H. Position", "V. Position", "Frequency" and "Tracking" functions are not supported under vi deo mode. Note: "Sharpness" function is not supported under com puter mode. Setting Menu Location Chooses the OSD menu locati on on the display screen.
22 English Security Security This projector provides a usef ul sec urity function for the administrator to manage th e usage of the projector. Press to change the "Security" setting. If the security function is enabled, your must enter "Administrator Password" first before changing the security setting.
23 English Management Administrator Password You can enter "Administrator Password" when the "Enter Administrator Password" or "Enter Password" dialogue box displays. • Press to change "Administrator Password".
24 English Audio High Altitude Choose "On" to turn on th e High Altitude mod e. When this function is turned on, the projector fans operate at full speed continuously to co ol down the projector’s temperature.
25 English Timer Language Timer Location Choose the location of the timer on the screen. Timer Start (or Stop) Press to start or stop the timer. Timer Period (Minutes) Press to adjust the timer period. Timer Volume Select this function to ad just the notification volume when the timer function is enabled and time is up.

27 English 3 Partial, s crolling or incorrectly displayed image (For notebooks) • Press "RESYNC" on the contr ol panel or remote control. • For an incorrectly displaye d image: • Follow the steps for item 2 (above) to adjust the resolution of your computer.

31 English Replacing the Lamp Use a screwdriver to remove the screw(s) from the cover, and then pull out the lamp. The projector will detect the lamp life itself. It will show you a warning message "Lamp is approach ing the end of its useful life in full powe r operation.
32 English Ceiling Mount Installation If you wish to install the projector using a ce iling mount, please refer to the steps below: 1 Drill four holes into a solid, structurally sound part of the ceiling, and secure the mount base. Note: Screws are not included.
33 English 3 Use the appropriate number of screws for the projector size to attach the projector to the ceiling mount bracket. Note: It is recommended that you keep a reasonable space between the bracket and the projector to allow fo r proper heat distribution.
