6 Location Requ irements Y ou will need ■ A location that allows for p roper exhaust install ation. A gas dryer must be exhaus ted to the outdoors. See “ Ve n t i n g Requirements. ” ■ A grounded electric al outlet located wit hin 2 ft (61 cm) of either side of the dryer .
7 Recessed or closet i nstallation - Dryer on pedestal Minimum installation spacing for cabinet installation ■ The dimensions shown are for the minimum spacing all owed. ■ For cabinet in stallation, w ith a door , minimum ven tilation openings in the top of th e cabinet are required.
8 Gas Sup ply Req uirement s Gas T ype Natural g as: This dry er is equipped for use with natura l gas. It is de sign- certified by CS A Intern ational for L.P . (propane or butane) gases with appropriate conversion . ■ Y our dryer mu st have the corr ect burner for the type of gas in your home.
9 Dryer gas pipe ■ The gas pipe that comes out th rough the rear of y our dryer has a ³⁄₈ " m ale pi pe threa d. *NOTE: If the dr yer is mount ed on a pedest al, th e gas pi pe height must be an additional 13" (33 cm) from the floor .

11 Determine V ent Length 1. Selec t the route that will provide t he straighte st and most direct path ou tdoors. Pl an the instal lation to use the fewe st number of el bows and turns. When u sing elbows or making turns, allo w as much r oom as possible .
12 Instal l L eveling L egs 1. T o protect the floor , use a large flat piece of c ardboard fr om the dryer c arton. Plac e cardboard under the entire ba ck edge of the dryer . Se e illustrat ion. 2. Firmly grasp the b ody of the dryer (not the console pa nel).
13 A combinat ion of pipe fit tings must be used t o connect t he dryer to the existing gas line. Shown fol lowing is a recommended connecti on. Y our conn ection may b e different, according to the supply l ine type, size and location. 3. Open t he shuto ff val ve in the supply line.
14 DRYER USE Starting Y our Dryer The following is a guide to s tarting your dryer . Please refer to specific sections of th is manual for more detail ed information . 1. Clean lint screen bef ore or after each cycle. See “ Cl eaning the Lint Screen.
15 T o use a Manual Cycle ■ Rotate th e dial to se lect a Manu al Cycle. Press MORE TIME or LESS TIME until the desired drying time is d is p l ay e d. T ap M O RE T I ME o r L E SS T I M E a n d t h e ti m e wi l l change by 1-minu te intervals. Press and hol d MORE TIME or LESS TI ME and the t ime will change by 5-minute intervals.
16 Drying and Cycle Tips Select t he correct cycle and dry ness level or temperature for your load. If an Au tomatic Cyc le is running, the d isplay shows th e estimate d cycle ti me when your dr yer is automa tically se nsing the d ryness level o f your loa d.
17 Cycle s Selec t the drying cy cle that matches the type of load you are drying (se e Automa tic Preset or Manual Preset Cycle Setti ngs charts). Cycle control knob Autom atic Cycl es Automa tic Cycles al low you to mat ch the cycle to the load y ou are drying.

19 3. Put the we t items on top of th e rack. Leav e space between the items so ai r can reach all the surface s. NOTE : Do not allow ite ms to hang over the ed ge of the rack. 4. Close the door . 5. Select a t imed drying cycl e and temperatu r e , or an air cycle (see followin g chart).
20 As nee ded clean ing Laundry de tergent and fabric softener r es idue can bui ld up on the lint screen. Th is buildu p can caus e longer drying times for your clothes, or cause the dryer to s top before your load is compl etely dry . The screen is probably clogged if lint falls off the screen.
21 TROUBLESHOOTING First try the solutions suggested here and p ossib ly avoid the cost of a service call... 22 Odors ■ Have you r ecently been painting, staining or varnishing in the area wher e your dryer is located? If so , vent ilate the ar ea. When the o dors o r fumes are gone from the area, rewash and dry the clot hing.
