7 D u a l S i z e E l e m e n t The dual size element s offer flexibility to cook usi ng different sizes of cookware. The singl e element can be us ed in the same way as a regular elem ent. The dual element c ombines bot h the inner and outer el ements and is r ecommended for l ar ger cookware.
8 ■ Use cookware about the sa me size as the surface cooki ng are a. Cookwar e should not e xtend m ore th a n ½" (1.3 cm) outside th e area. ■ Use flat-bott omed cookware for best heat conducti on and energy ef ficiency . Cookware with r ounded, warp ed, ribbed or dented bo ttoms could cause u neven heatin g and poor cooking results.
9 ELECTRONIC OVEN CONTROLS Disp lay When power i s first supp lied to th e appliance, a flashin g time will appear on the di splay . See “Clock ” section to set time of day . If a flashin g time appears at any ot her time, a power failu re has occurred.
10 Adjustin g Sound Level The oven is fact ory set for medium (MEd) but can be changed to low (LO) or hi gh (HI). 1. Press and hold DELA Y a nd UPPER CANCEL for 3 sec onds. A beep will sound. “bEEP ” and the current so und level w ill be displa yed.
11 T o Adju st Oven T emperature Ca libration: 1. Press the appropriat e BAKE pad. 2. Enter 5 50 using the numbe r pads . 3. Press and hold BAKE for sev eral seconds or u ntil 00° app ears in the d isplay . If the oven temperat ure was previously ad justed, t hat change will appe ar in the di splay .
12 Bakeware The bakeware mat erial affects cooking r es ults. Follow manufacturer’ s recommendations and use t he bakeware size recommended in the recipe.
13 Broil ing Broiling uses dir ect radiant heat to cook food. The lower the temperature, the slower t he cooking. Thicker cuts and unevenly shaped p ieces of meat, fis h and poultry may cook better at l ower broi ling temperatur es. ■ For best results, u se a broiler pan and grid (provided on some models).
14 T oasting - Uppe r O ven On l y For toastin g br ead and p roducts that are toasted in a toaster or toast er oven. ■ Lower oven cannot be operated w hile upper oven is toasting. If the lower oven is operating when the T oast pad i s pressed, a beep will sou nd.
15 T o S et Cook & Hold: 1. Press COOK & HOLD once for the uppe r oven and twice for the lower oven. “HOLD,” “00:00,” and ei ther “UPPER” or “LOWER” wil l flash in the display . 2. Press the appropriat e number pads to se lect an amount of time to cook.
16 F avorites The Favo rites feat ure allows yo u to save t he time an d temperature from a Cook & Hold Bake function. T o set a Favori tes cycle, a Cook & Hold fu nction must be either active or ju st programmed. T o Set a Favorites Cycle: 1.
17 How the Cy cle W o rks IMPORT ANT : The heating and c ooling of porcelain on steel i n the oven may re sult in discoloring, loss of gl oss, hairline cracks and poppi ng soun ds. Before self-clean ing, make sure the door is completely cl osed or the door will not lock and the sel f-cleaning cy cle will not begi n.
