4 REFRI GERAT OR INSTALLATION Unpacking Removin g packaging m aterials ■ Remove tape and glue residue fr om surfaces before turning on the refrigerator . Rub a small amount of liqu id dish soap over th e adhesiv e with your fin gers. Wipe with warm water and dry .
5 Electrical R equirements Befo re yo u mov e you r re friger ator into it s fina l loca tion, it is important to make sure you have the proper electrical connection : Recommended gr ounding method A 115 V olt, 60 Hz. , AC only 15 or 20 am per e fused, gr ounded electrica l supply i s r equired .
6 Door Removal TOOLS NE EDED: ¹⁄₄ in., ¹⁄ ₂ in., an d ⁵⁄₁₆ in. hex -head soc ket wr enches, a flat-head scr ewdriver and a Phi llips scr ewdriver . IMPORT AN T : Before y ou begin, turn the refrigerator contr ol OFF , unp lug refrigerator or d isconnect power .
7 Handle Removal (optional) 1. Apply firm pressure with your han d on the face of trim. S lide top t rim u p and bott om tr im dow n away from han dle. Lift trim pieces off shoulder screws (s ee Graphic 1). NOTE : Some models in clude accent pi eces bet ween the handle and the han dle trim.
8 3. Use a hex-h ead socket wrench to ad just th e leveli ng screws. T urn the leveli ng scr ew to th e right to rai se that s ide of the r efrigerator or turn the le veling sc rew to the left to lower that side. It may take several turn s of the l evelin g screws to ad just the tilt of th e r efrigerator (s ee Graphic 8).
9 Styl e 2 NOTE S: ■ If your m odel has a b ase grill e filter s ystem, m ake sure the base grille filte r is p ro perly inst alled and the ca p is in the horizonta l position . ■ Do not use with water that is microbiologically unsafe or of unknown quality without adequate disinfection before or after th e system.
10 ■ W ait 24 hours befor e you p ut food int o the r efrigerator . If you add food before the r e frigerator has cooled completely , your food may spoil. NOTE : A djusting th e Refrigerator an d Freezer Controls to a higher (colde r) setting wil l not cool the compartmen ts any faster .

12 5. With cart ridge cap in th e vertical position, push the ne w filter cartri dge in to the base gr ille un til it stops . Rota te the c artri dge cap clockwise to a horizon tal position. Flush the water system (see “ Flushin g the W ater S ystem A fter Rep lacin g Filter ” later in this se ction) .
13 T o care for ice storage bin or bucket: 1. Empty the ice con tainer . Use warm water to melt the ice if necessary . NOTE : N ever use anyth ing sharp to break up the i ce in the bin or bucket. This ca n cause damage to the i ce container and the dis penser mechanism.
14 Adjust able Flip-u p She lf (on som e mode ls) T o raise or lower the shelf: 1. Raise the shelf by f irst slid ing it back and down to make it half -width. (Y ou can use the shel f in t his p osition to allow taller it ems to be stored on the s helf below .
15 Crisper Hu midit y Cont rol (on som e mode ls) Y ou can cont rol the amount of humidi ty in the mois ture-sealed crisper . Adjust the control to any set ting betw een LOW and HIGH. LOW (open) lets moist air out of the crisp er for best storage of fruits and ve getab les wit h skin s.

17 5. There is no need for routine condenser cle aning in normal home operating en vironments. If the environment is particularly greasy or d usty or there is si gnificant pet traffic in the home, th e condenser shou ld be cleaned every two t o three months to ensure maximum efficiency .
18 P ower Interruptions If the power wi ll be out for 24 hours or less, keep bot h refrigerator doors closed to help food stay cold and fr ozen. If the power will be out for m ore th an 24 hou rs, do one of the follo wing: ■ Remove all frozen food and stor e it in a fr ozen food locker .
19 The motor see ms to run too much ■ Is the room temperature hotter than normal? The motor will run longer under warm cond itions. At n ormal r oom temperatures, expect you r motor to run about 40% to 80% of the time. Unde r warmer conditions, i t will run even mor e.
20 ■ Has the ice froz en in the ice bin or bucket? Shake the ice bin or bu cket to s epara te cub es. If cub es do not separ ate, empty bi n or bu cket and wa it 24 hours for i ce to re stock. ■ Has the ice melted around the auger (metal spiral) in the ice bucket? Du mp th e ice cu bes and clean the ice buck et completely .
