6 BEF ORE USING Odors are normal when th e range is new . This h appens the fi rst time the oven i s used. IMPORT ANT : The heal th of some bi rds is extremely s ensiti ve to the fumes given off. Expos ure to the fumes may result i n death t o certain birds.
7 To C l e a n : 1. Remove the bu rn er cap from the bur ner base and cle an according to “General Cleani ng” section. 2. Clean the gas tube opening with a damp cloth. 3. Clean clogged burner ports with a straight pin as sh own. Do not enla r ge or distort th e port.
8 Home Cannin g When canni ng for long periods, alter nate the use of surface cooking areas, element s or surface bur ners bet ween batch es. This allow s time for the most recentl y used areas to cool . ■ Center the can ner on the grat e or largest surface cooking area or element.
9 O V EN USE Electr onic Cloc k/Timer (on some models) Display When pow er is first s upplie d to the appl iance, everyt hing on the display wi ll light up for 5 seconds. The n “PF” wil l appear on t he displa y . Any other time “PF” appears, a power failure occurred.
