Important safety Instructions Gas ranges have been thoroughly tested for safe and efficient operation. However, as with any appliance, there are specific installation and safety precautions which must be followed to ensure safe and satisfactory operation.
l Do not use the range for warming or heating the room. Persons could be burned or injured, or a fire could start. l Do not attempt to light the oven burner during a power failure. Personal injury could result. Reset oven controls to the off position in the event of a power failure.
Grease l Grease is flammable. Do not allow grease to collect around cooktop or in vents. Wipe spillovers immediately. - n l Do not use water on grease fires. Never pick up a flaming pan. Smother flaming pan by covering with a well-fiied lid, cookie sheet or flat tray.

Home canning information The large diameter of most water-bath or pressure canners combined with high heat settings for long periods of time can cause damage to the cooktop. To protect your range: l For bed re8ult8, UM a canner which can be centered over the surface burner.

Setting the clock When the range is first plugged in, or following a power outage. “12:OO” will flash in the display. 1. Slide the Clock/Timer Switch to the CLOCK position. CLOCK 2. Push in and hold the Hour button until the correct hour appears in the display.

Adjusting the oven temperature control Oven temperature controls will gradually shift after years of use. So, even though your new oven is properly adjusted to provide accurate temperatures, it may cook faster or slower than your old oven.
4. Push in and turn the Oven Temperature Control to BROIL. The broiler will automati- cally light in 50-60 seconds. 5. When broiling is done, turn the Oven Temperature Control to OFF. NOTE: Do not preheat the broiler before using. Completely close the broiler drawer during broiling.
The anti-tip bracket The range will not tip during normal use. How- ever, tipping can occur if you apply too much force or weight to the open door without the anti- tip bracket properly secured. To verify the anti-tip bracket is engaged: l Look to see if the anti-tip bracket is attached with screws to the wall behind the backguard.

Lift-up cooktop 1. Remove surface burner grates and reflector pans. 2. Lift front of cooktop at both front corners until the support rods lock into place. Personal Injury and Product Damage Hazard l Be sure both support rods are fully extended and in the locked position.

The continuous-cleaning oven (model FGC355Y) Standard-cleaning oven walls are coated with smooth porcelain. Your continuous-cleaning oven walls are coated with a special, rougher porce- lain. A fat spatter beads up on the smooth surface, but spreads out on the rougher surface.
Hand-cleaning Personal Injury Hazard Do not use oven cleaning products in a continuous-cleaning oven. Some can become trapped in the porcelain surface and give off harmful fumes. WINDOW-Keep clean with warm, soapy water. Use a plastic scrubbing pad for heavily soiled areas.
