9 Conn ecting to W ater and Electrical Supply 1. Run water at the faucet until it is hot . T u rn th e water off. 2. Pull the hose s out of their st orage compartment on the back of the dishwa sher . NOTE : Make sur e the ho ses ar e not kink ed or twisted .
10 Loading T op Rack The top rack is designed for cups , glasses , and s malle r items. (See recommended loadin g patter ns shown.) NOTE : The features on you r dishwasher rack may va ry from the drawings shown. ■ Place items so op en ends face down for cl eaning and draining.
11 ■ Load soup, cereal, an d serving bowl s in the rack in a variety of ways depend ing upon their s ize and shape. L oad bowls secur ely b etween the rows of tines. Do n ot nest bowls because t he spray will no t reach all surfaces. ■ Load cookie sh eets, cake pans, and other la r ge items at the sides and bac k.

13 How much detergent to use ■ The amount of deter gent to us e depends on the har dness of your wa ter and t he type o f detergent. If you us e too li ttle, dishes won’t be clean. If yo u use too much in soft water , glassware wi ll etch. ■ W ater hard ness can change over a period of time.
14 T o check water temp erature 1. Run hot wat er at the faucet clos est to your d ishwasher fo r at least 1 mi nute. 2. Place a candy or meat thermometer in a gl ass measuring cup. 3. Check the temperat ure on the thermometer as the w ater is running i nto the cup .

If a drain is clogged, the drain air gap prot ects your dishwasher fr om wate r backing up into it.
