6 CHECKIN G YOUR V ENT Y our dr yer must be prope rly in stalled an d vented t o achieve maximum drying efficiency and shorten dryin g times. Use the minimum recommended install ation clearance s (found in your Installation Instructions) to av oid blocking the flow of combustion and ventil ation air .
7 DRYER USE Starting Y our Dryer Before using your dryer , wi pe the dryer drum with a damp cloth to rem ove dust from storing and shipping. The followi ng steps provide an overvi ew for operating your dryer . Spe cific directions for each step a r e provided i n the followin g sections.

11 DRYER CARE Cleanin g the Lint Scree n Every load clean ing The lint screen is loc ated on the top of the dry er . Clea n it before each load. A screen blocked by lint can increase dry ing time. T o clean 1. Pull the l int screen towards you . Roll lin t off the screen with your finge rs.
12 TROUBLESHOOTING First try the solutions suggested here and possibly avoid the cost of a service call. .. Clothes ar e not drying satisfactorily ■ Check the following : Is the lint scr een clogged with lint? Is the exhaust vent or outside exhaust hood clogged with lint, restri cting air movement? Run the dryer for 5-10 minutes.
