6 COOKTOP USE Cooktop C ontrols Contro l knobs mus t be pu shed in befor e tur ning t hem to a setting. The controls can be set any where between HI and LO. Use the follow ing chart a s a guide when sett ing heat leve ls. Cooktop On Indicator Lights The Cooktop On li ghts above the con trol knobs indicate w hich surface el ements are tur ned on.
7 To R e m o v e : 1. Push in th e edge of coil element toward the receptac le. Then lift it en ough to clear the bur ner bowl . 2. Pull the c oil elem ent straight away from the receptacle. 3. Lift out the bu rner bowl . T o Replace: 1. Line up open ings in th e burn er bowl with t he coil eleme nt receptacle.
8 When the cl ock display is canceled, press CL OCK to briefly displa y the t ime of day . T o Restore the Clock Display: Press and hold CANCE L and CLOCK for 3 seconds. The time of day will reappear i n the display . Ti m er The Timer c an be set in hours or minute s up to 99 hours an d 59 minutes , and counts down the set t ime.
9 BAKEWARE Hot air must be able t o circulate around food to cook evenly , so allow 2" (5 cm) of space around bakeware and oven wall s. Use the following c hart as a guide. Bakeware The bakeware mat erial affects cooking r esults. Follow manufacturer’ s recommendations and use t he bakeware size recommended in the recipe.
10 Cook & Hold Cook & Hold allow s the ove n to be set to tur n on at a certain time of day , cook for a set length of time, followed by a 1- hour Keep W a rm cycle. Delay st art should not b e used for food such as breads and cakes becaus e they may n ot bake properly .
11 Close the door to the br oil stop position to ensure prop er broiling temperature. T o Br oil: 1. Press BROIL. “BROI L” flashes an d “SEt” appears i n the displa y . 2. Press the “up” arrow pad to set HI Broil or press the “down” arro w pad to set LO Broi l.
12 Keep the kitchen well-ve ntilated during t he Self -Cleanin g cycle to help get rid of heat, odors, and smoke. Do not block t he oven vent (s) during th e Self-Cle aning cycl e. Air must be able to move fr e ely . Depending on you r model, see “Oven V ent” or “Oven V ents” section .
