Using Your Dishwasher The drawings in this book may vary slightly from your dishwasher model. They are designed to show the different features of all the models covered by this book.
Cycle and options (models with one cycle) Cycle control knob Wash cycle A double wash for moderate to heavily soiled loads. Select the mark next to WASH with the Cycle Control Knob.
Cycles and options (models with three buttons) Pots & Pans cycle A double wash with an extra rinse for maximum cleaning of cooked-on or baked-on foods. Push the POTS 8t PANS Cycle Selector Button and select the mark next to POTS & PANS with the Cycle Control Knob.
Cycles and options (models with seven buttons) Pots & Pans cycle A double wash where water is heated during the first wash and rinse for maximum cleaning of cooked-on or baked-on foods. Push the POTS & PANS Cycle Selector Button and select the mark next to POTS & PANS with the Cycle Control Knob.
To add a dish after starting (for models with more than one cycle) 1. To be sure the added item is washed and rinsed, make sure the Cycle Control Knob has not passed LIGHT WASH. 2. Lift up on the door latch to unlatch door and stop the cycle. Don’t open the door until the spray arm stops spinning.
Silverware basket loading Load the silverware basket(s) while in or out of the bottom rack. The loaded basket(s) must be placed in the center front of the bottom rack for proper washing (Style I baskets fit over the spray tower). Some of the load may not be completely washed if the loaded silverware basket(s) are placed in a different location.
Using Rinse Agent For Best Results Keep rinse agent dlspenwr fllled for best dryfng remlItm Keep the rinse agent dispenser filled with a liquid rinse agent. A rinse agent greatly improves the drying of dishes by helping water flow off of them during the last rinse.

Common Dishwashing Problems PROBLEM CAUSED BY spotting and filming Hard water SOLUTION Fill detergent dispensers to capacity. Use dishwasher detergent with highest available phosphorus content. May be necessary to install water softener. To remove spots and fihn, try a vinegar rinse .
PROBLEM Smdl particles deposited on items (continued) CAUSED BY “Old” detergent SOLUTION Use only fresh dishwasher detergent. Store tightly closed container in cool, dry place. Discard old detergent. Do not fill dispensers until ready to start dishwasher.
PROBLEM CAUSED BY SOLUTION Dishes not washing clean Spray arm not rotating freely Check spray arm to make sure it turns (continued) freely after loading. Be sure a utensil has not prevented it from turning. Not enough detergent or improper Use more dishwasher detergent.
