3 Introduction Thank you for your purchase of a Wh arfedale Pro S-Series pr ofessional power amplifier. Please read this manual comp letely to ensure p roper operatio n and comple te understanding of th e features of these produ cts.
Getting Started 1. AC Power Connections All S-Series power amplifiers are equipped with an internal AC power supply. Connect the appropriate grounded IEC pow er cable to th e po wer amp BEFORE connecting it to the power outlet.
FRONT PANEL - FEATURES AND CONTROLS 1. Power switch: Push to turn powe r on or off. 2. Power On LED: Th is LED lights when the power is on for the amplifier. 3. Protect LED: This LED will light up when a fault is detected in the amplifier operation. 4.
6 REAR PANEL – FEATURES AND CONTROLS 1. INPUT “A” XLR and ¼” Ba lanced Line Input jacks: These XLR inputs are balanced input jacks and ¼” TRS (Tip / Ring / Sleeve) balanced / unbala nced inputs. These jacks are designed to b e connected to +4dBu ba lanced or unbalan ced line level so urces.
INPUT A & B MODE SWITCHES The MODE SWITCHES for the S-2500 pr ovide the means to config ure the amplifier in for a variety of different applications. The following l egend shows the available selections. 7 Switch 1: is not used INPUT A Switch 2: E ngage s the signal LIMITER in the ON (up) position and disengages it when OFF (down).
MODE SWITCH OPERATION LIMITER A limiter is a circuit that prevents signal over load and distortion in an audio s ignal path. When engaged, the internal limiter circ uit will keep the audio signal from going over a preset level threshold, thereby helping to prevent signal d istortion within th e amp lifier and in the speaker system.
OUTPUT “ A ” AND “ B ” WIRING OPTIONS Output wiring options consist of NL-4 “Speak on®-type” female connecto rs for the left and right o utputs along with industry standard binding posts for dire ct wiring conn ections or wiring with banana plugs.

BINDING POST WIRING OPTIONS 11 As shown in the graph ic above, the stereo and bridged mono applications can be connected as indicated. Binding post wiring can be do ne with spade connectors, bare wire ends tightened into the binding posts or via banana plugs inserted into the e nd of the binding pos ts.
