7 2. Insert the Right Upright (74) into the indicated bracket on the Base (83) ; be careful not to dislodge the Cage Nuts (76) from the Right Upright (see the inset draw- i ng).
8 4 5 48 5. Attach the Catch (5) to the left side of the Frame (48) with two 3/4” Screws (4). W ith the help of a second person, raise the Frame (48) to a vertical position. Be careful not to raise the Frame p ast the vertical position. Have the other person hold the Frame until step 7 is completed.
9 8 . Remove the elastic band holding the Upright Wire Harness (75). Have two people hold the console assem- bly near the Left Upright (73) and the Right Upright (74).

Make sure that the power cord is unplugged. Remove the indicated Console Back Screw (67) and the Access Door (70) from the left side of the Console Back (69).
1 1 THE PRE-LUBRICATED WALKING BELT Your treadmill features a walking belt coated with high- p erformance lubricant. IMPORTANT: Never apply sil- icone spray or other substances to the walking belt or the walking platform. Such substances will deteriorate the walking belt and cause excessive wear.
12 FEATURES OF THE CONSOLE The treadmill console offers an impressive array of features designed to make your workouts more effec- tive. When the manual mode of the console is selected, the speed and incline of the treadmill can be changed with the touch of a button.

When the key is in- serted, the manual mode will be selected and a track will appear in the matrix. If a pro- gram has been selected, remove the key and reinsert it to select the manual mode.

15 M easure your heart rate if desired. You can measure your heart rate using either the handgrip pulse sensor or the optional chest pulse s ensor. Note: If you hold the handgrip pulse sen- sor and wear the chest pulse sensor at the same time, the console will not display your heart rate accurately.
16 H OW TO USE A PRESET PROGRAM Insert the ke y into the conso le. See HOW TO TURN ON THE POWER on page 1 2. Select a preset program. To select a preset pro- gram, press the Programs button re- peatedly until one of the walking, jogging, or run- ning indicators below the matrix lights.

21 When the first segment ends, all target heart rate settings will move one column to the left. The tar- get heart rate setting for the second segment will t hen be shown in the flashing Current Segment column.
22 THE INF ORMAT ION MOD E/DE MO MODE The console features an information mode that keeps t rack of the total number of hours that the treadmill has been used and the total number of miles that the walk- i ng belt has moved. The information mode also allows you to select miles or kilometers as the unit of mea- surement for speed and distance.
23 HOW T O FOLD AND MOVE THE TREADMILL HOW TO FOLD THE TREADMILL FOR STORAGE Before folding the treadmill, adjust the incline to the lowest position. If this is not done, the treadmill may be permanently damaged. Next, unplug the power cord. CAUTION: You must be able to safely lift 45 pounds (20 kg) to raise, lower, or move the treadmill.
24 HOW TO LOWER THE TREADMILL FOR USE 1 . Hold the upper end of the treadmill with your right hand as shown. Using your left hand, pull the latch knob to the left and hold it. Pivot the treadmill down until the frame is past the latch pin. Slowly release the latch knob.

26 Next, locate the Reed Switch (14) and the Mag net (12) on the left side of the Pulley (11). Turn the Pulley until the Magnet is aligned with the Reed Switch.

EXERCISE INTENSITY Whether your goal is to burn fat or to strengthen your cardiovascular system, the key to achieving the desired results is to exercise with the proper intensity.
28 SUGGESTED STRETCHES The correct form for several basic stretches is shown at the right. Move slowly as you stretch—never bounce. 1. Toe Touch Stretch Stand with your knees bent slightly and slowly bend forward from your hips. Allow your back and shoulders to relax as you reach down toward your toes as far as possible.
