3 INTRODUCTION This manual's main function is to assis t the installer in correctly mounting doors with due regard for safety , operation, and sound construction pra ctices.
4 STEP 1 UNPACKING DOORS Doors shipped by common ca rrier arrive at the job site packed in cardboard. Before removing the door from the packag ing, inspect the door and packa ging for visible signs of damage . If damage is noted, file a freight claim with the freight c ompany immediately .
5 STEP 3 INS TALLING MOUNTING ANG LES AND GUIDES Obtain the appropriate Bolt Line (BL) measurement from the chart below. Use Openin g Width l isted on packi ng slip. Any variation between the a ctual opening w idth and the width listed on the packing slip is to be ignore d.
6 Trim the top of eac h wear strip at a 45° angle as shown and clip onto the appropriate leg of each guide. Be sure that trimmed edges of the wear strips end just below the flare of the guides. Install the bottom bar stops wit h the same 5/ 16-18 x 5/8” truss head bolts and flange nuts used to assemble the guides (no washer).

8 STEP 8 INSTALL SLIDE B OLT LOCKS I nstall slide bolt locks, if provided, as shown. I nstall the lift ha ndle to bottom bar angle at this time. STEP 9 L UBRICATE AND ADJUST THE GUIDES L ubricate the insides of the guides and wearstrips with weather resistant lubrica tin g spr ay .
9 Place a large pi pe wrench in position on the door axle as s hown and slightly loosen bot h ax le saddle castings. Pul l down on the wrench for m ore spring tension and let up on the wrench f or less spring tension. A s saddle cas tings are loosened, hold w re nch securel y .
10 REDUCED DRIVE CHAIN HOIST INSTALLATION INST RUCTIONS (if applicable) STEP 12 ALIGN THE SPROCKETS Feed the hand chain through the pocket wheel assembly (installed in step #4), around the cast iron hand c hain wheel, and conne ct the two end links.
