- 3 - INSTALLATION, OPERATION AND CARE OF MEDIUM DUTY GAS HOTPL ATES GENERAL Gas Counterto p Hotplates are designed for comm ercial use only and fea ture fast, efficie nt gas heat. Each bur ner is controlled by an ad justable gas valv e. Cast grates and b urners are easily remove d for cleaning wh en cool.
- 4 - INSTALLATION CODES AND STANDARD S The hotplate must be instal led in accord ance with: In the United Stat es of America: 1. State and local codes. 2. National Fu el Gas Code, ANSI-Z 223.1/NFPA #54 (latest edition ). This shall include but not be limited to : NFPA #54 Sectio n 10.
- 5 - GAS CONNECTIONS Gas supply c onnections an d any pipe joint c ompound must be resistant to th e action o f propane gases. Purge the su pply line to clea n out any dust, di rt, or any foreign matter before con necting the line to the unit. Codes requi re that a gas shut-off valve be installed in the gas line ahea d of the appliance.
- 6 - The minimum supp ly pressure (upstre am of the regulator) should be 7- 9” W.C. for natura l gas and 11-12” W. C. for propane gas. At no time shoul d the hotplate be con nected to supply pressure greater than ½ psig (3.
- 7 - OPERATION The hotpl ate and it s parts ar e hot. Use ca re when op erating, cleaning or ser vicing t he hotplate. CONTROLS There is one pilot fo r every two burners. The hotplate is equ ipped with standing, unmonitored pilots . Gas will flow from the pilots as soon as the main gas supp ly to the unit is turne d on.
- 8 - PILOT ADJUSTME NT Using a fla thead screwdri ver, turn the s lotted hex-he ad pilot ad justment sc rew clockwise to decreas e the flame, and co unterclo ckwise to increa se the flame. See Fig. 6. CLEANI NG Grates may be immersed in commercial cle aning compound overnight.
- 9 - MAINTENANCE The hotplat e and its parts are hot. Use care when opera ting, cleaning or ser vicing t he hotplate. LUBRICATION All valves must be checked and lubricated peri odically. Check w ith your service ag ency for details. VENT SYSTEM At least twice a year the ex haust hood (ven ting system) sho uld be examined and cleaned.

- 3 - INSTALLATION, EMPLOI ET ENTRETIEN DES PLAQUES DE CUISSON AU GAZ À FONCTION MOYENNE GENERAL Les plaques de cuisson au gaz de comptoir sont conçues à des fins commerciales seulement et offrent une chaleur au gaz rapide, efficace. Chaque brû leur est contrôlé par une soupape à gaz réglable .
- 4 - CODES ET NORMES D’INSTALLATION La plaque de cuisson do it être inst allée confor mément à : Aux États-Unis d'Amérique : 1. Codes locaux e t d’état. 2. National Fuel Gas Code, ANSI-Z223.1/NFPA N o 54 (dernière édition). Cela doit comprendre sans être limité à : NFPA N o 54 Section 10 .
- 5 - CONNEXIONS DU GAZ Toutes les conn exions et toute pâte à joints doiven t résister à l’action du gaz propane. Vider la conduite d’alimen tation pour la nettoyer de toute poussière, saleté ou tout autre corps étranger avant de la connecter à l’appareil.
- 6 - La pression d'alimen tation minimum (en amont du régulateur) de vrait être de 18 à 23 cm CE pour le gaz nature l et de 28 à 30 cm CE pour le gaz propane. La plaque de cuisson ne devrait à aucun moment être connectée à une pression d’al imentation supérieure à ½ psi (3,45 kPa) ou 36 cm CE.
- 7 - EMPLOI La plaque de cuisson et se s pièces sont chaudes. Fa ites attention lorsque vous employez, nettoyez ou entretenez la plaque de cuiss on. COMMANDES Il y a une veilleuse d’allumage pour deux brûleurs. La plaq ue de cuisson est munie de veilleuses d’allumage permanentes non contrôlées.
- 8 - RÉGLAGE DE LA VEILLEUSE D’ ALLUMAGE À l’aide d’un tourne vis à tête plate, tournez la vis à tête hexagona le fendue de régla ge de la veilleuse d’allumage dans le sens des aiguilles d'une montre po ur diminuer la flamme et dans le sens contraire des aig uilles d'une montre pour augmenter la flamme.
- 9 - ENTRETIEN La plaque de cuisson et se s pièces sont chaudes. Fa ites attention lorsque vous employez, nettoyez ou entretenez la plaque de cuiss on. LUBRIFICAT ION On doit vérifier e t lubrifier tou tes les soupapes régulière ment. Contactez votre service à la clientèle pour de plus amples dé tails.
- 10 - DÉPANNAGE Le brûleur ne s’ouvre p as lorsque le bouton de De commande est ouvert A. C’est un problème avec la soupape à gaz (Contactez le servic e à la client èle). B. La veilleuse du brûleur n’est pas a llumée C. La pression du gaz est basse.
