- 3 - INSTALLATION, OPERATION AND CARE OF GAS COUNTERTOP CHARBROILERS GENERAL Gas Countertop C harbroilers are designed for commer cial use only and feat ure fast, efficient ga s heat. Eac h burner is controlled by an adjust able gas valve . Cast ra diants are located dire ctly above each burner to maint ain uniform temperat ure.
- 4 - supply connecti on(s). Provide 24" cleara nce at the front for cle aning, mainte nance, service and proper operation. Minimum clea rances to comb ustible construc tion are 12" to the back and 9" to the sides. Minimum clea rances to non-comb ustible walls are 3" to the rea r and 3" to the sides.
- 5 - Purge the su pply line to clea n out any dust, di rt, or any foreign matter before con necting the line to the unit. Codes requi re that a gas shut-off valve be installed in the gas line ahea d of the charbroile r. The gas s upply line must be at least the e quivalent of ¾” iro n pipe.
- 6 - CASTER EQUIPPED CHARBROILERS Charbroilers mounted on st ands with casters must use a flexible connecto r (not supplied) that complies with the Standard f or Connectors for Mova ble Gas Appliance s, ANSI Z21.
- 7 - The charbroiler is a free vente d appliance. All produc ts of combustion and the heat generated by the burners p ass through th e grates. Wh en meat is pl aced on the grat es, this blocks the venting and caus es a temperature build-up. The charbroiler operates most efficientl y with valves turned down to 1 / 3 or ½.
- 8 - MAINTENANCE WARNING : THE CHARBROILER AND ITS PARTS ARE HOT. USE CAR E WHEN OPERATING, CLEANING, OR SERVICING THE CHARBROILER. VENT SYSTEM At least twice a year the ex haust hood (ven ting system) sho uld be examined and cleaned. SERVICE Contact your loca l Service Agenc y for any repairs or adjustments need ed on this equipment.
