Depending on the user’s application, an Ethernet cable may be needed. The Ethernet cable should meet the specs of UTP Category 5 and not exceed 100 meters in length.

- 9 - www .vivotek.com Add Password to prevent Unauthorized Access The default Administrator’s password is blank and the Network Camera initially will n ot ask for any password. The Administrato r should immediately implement a new password as a matte r of prudent security practice.
- 10 - www .vivotek.com How to Use Authentication After opening the W eb browse r and typing in the URL of the Netwo rk Camera, a dialogue window pops up to request a username and password. U pon successful authentication, the following fig ure is displayed.
- 11 - www .vivotek.com Installing plug-in For the initial access to the Network Camera in Windows, the web browser may prom pt for permission to install a new plug-in for the Network Camera. Permission request depends on the Internet security se ttings of the user ’s PC or notebook.

Camera View : What the camera sees. Click on the configuration link to the le ft of the image window to enter the configuration page.

Uncheck “D isable digital zoo m” and use the slider control to change the zoom factors. Digital Output Clicking on the “On” or “Off” bu tton turns the digital output to either on or off status.

This pl ug-in has been registered for certification and can be used to change the parameters at the client’s site.
- 15 - www .vivotek.com The HTTP protocol must be selected if the network is protected by a firewall and it only allows HT TP Port (80) to be opened. In this mode, audio wi ll not be sent and only video is operational. If no special need is required, UDP pro tocol is recommended.
