G ETTING R EADY TO T AKE P ICTU RES 11 S ET THE D ATE AN D T IME When you transfer a photo to a computer or print a photo, the time and date th e photo was taken are shown. T o se t the d ispla y st y le: 1. R otate the Mode dial to Set U p. 2. P r ess the On/Off butto n to turn the camera on.

E XPLORING Y OUR C AMERA ’ S F EATURES 19 Flash: Cy cles through setti ngs for the flash. ■ Aut o: The camera determines when the flas h is needed. ■ On: The flash is always on, wheth er needed or not. ■ Red-eye reduction : Reduces the appearance of red-eye in photos caused by fl ash ref lection off of the sub ject ’ s eyes .

E XPLORING Y OUR C AMERA ’ S F EATURES 21 Do wn Button: Decreases the camera lens ’ exposu re value, which allo ws less light in the lens. Zoom In: N arrows the field framed by the camera ’ s lens, from x1 .0 to x2.0. Zoom Out: Widens the field framed by th e camera ’ s lens , from x2 .

E XPLORING Y OUR C AMERA ’ S F EATURES 23 Zoom In: N arrows the fiel d framed by L CD, from x1.0 to x4.0. The default zoom setting is x1.0. Each time you press the Zoom In b utton, the zoom ration incr eases as follo ws: x1.5, x2.5, x3.0, x3.5, x 4.

When you turn the M ode dial to Set U p, the fo llowing menu displays on the LCD. Each menu option is desc ribed be low . Delete All: This option is used to delete all images from the internal memor y or the SmartMedia card.

Y ou must choose a transmis sion format t hat is compatibl e with yo ur telev ision if you want to record the transmitted vi deo images with a VCR.

T HE LCD 33 F LASH S ETT ING Indicates the cur rent setting f or use of the camera ’ s flash . If there is no flash setting indicated, the camer a is set to automatically determine whether or no t the flash is needed . Flas h O ff: The fl ash is turned off, whether ne eded or no t.
34 V ISIONEER MX 200 D IGIT AL C AMER A U SER ’ S G UIDE W HITE B ALANCE S ETTING Indicates the cur rent White Balance ( WB) setting. If there is no setting indicated , the camera is set to automatic ally determine the appropriat e white balan ce.
T HE LCD 35 P ICT URES R EMAINING Indicates the number of pictures remaining on th e selected memor y (internal or ex ternal). The number of remaining pictures is based on the amount of available space on the memory and the current qualit y/resolution setting.

C ONNECTING TO A C OMP UTER 39 C ONNECT TO Y OUR C OMPUTER THE F IRST T IME The first time you connect your camer a to your computer , the computer recognizes th e camera as a new piece of hardwar e and leads you through th e installation. T his is a one-time procedure.

There are two ways to copy photos from your camera to your computer: using Win dows Explorer or using the Visioneer Digital Camera U tility softwa re.
