Using the Vie wP anel Setting the Tim ing Mode Setting the timing mode is importan t for maximizing the quality o f the screen image and minimizing eye strain. The timing mode con sists of the res ol u t io n (example 1280 x 10 24) a nd r ef resh rate (or v ertical fr equency — example 60 Hz).
ViewSonic VG171/VG171b 6 Adjusting the Screen Image Use the b uttons on the front control panel to display and adjust the OnV iew ® controls which display on the screen. The OnV iew controls are e xplained at the top of the next page and are def ined in "Main Menu Controls on page 10.

ViewSonic VG171/VG171b 1 1 OSD Timeout sets the length of time an on-screen display screen is displayed. For e xample, with a “15 second” setting, if a control is not pushed within 15 seconds, the display screen disappears. OSD Message On/Off Allows you to enable or disable the message.
