Page 3 Digital Input and Output: Connect the digital input (t op) to the XBOX 360 digital output using the included digital optical cable. The digital input (top) is passed thr ough to the digital output (bottom) so y ou can connect the X4 1 transmitter and y our home theater system t o hear the XBOX on the headset and speakers at the same time.
Page 4 T ransmitter Range The transmitter and headset communicat e via radio frequency (RF), so a direct line of sight is not required. The operating range is appr oximately 30 f eet. When you’re out of range, you ma y hear popping or clicking sounds if the headset loses the RF signal.
Page 5 Pow er Switch: T urn on the headset by pressing the po wer switch (1) for a couple of seconds, then release. The power LED (5) should start ashing. Page 6 X4 1 Headset and T alkback Cable (cont’d) Installing Batteries: The headset is powered b y 2 AAA batteries located in the right ear cup. Push in and pull down on the lid t o re- mov e. Inser t both batteries with the positive sides facing do wn.
Page 7 No sound • Check that the transmitter and headset volume contr ols are both turned up. • Check that the transmitter po wer and optical cables are properly connected. • Check that the headset is pow ered on. The LED on the left ear cup should be ashing.
Page 8 STEP 1: Connect the XBOX t o the X41 T ransmitter 1. Connect the XBO X 360 AV cable t o your XBO X as described in the XBOX User’s Guide. 2. Connect the X4 1 TOSLINK digital optical cable (included) from the digital output on the XBOX A V cable (1) to the digital input on the transmitt er (2) .
Page 9 Step 5: T urn on the headset power 1. Press and hold the pow er switch (6) for a couple of seconds, then release. The T ur tle Beach logo on the lef t ear cup should star t ashing. If it doesn’t, make sure the batteries are inserted pr operly.
Page 10 The headset and transmitter in this pack age are “paired”, which means they’re synchronized t o ensure they work t ogether . When the headset and transmitter are communicating, the top LED on the fr ont panel of the transmitter will be on solid.

Page 13 The X4 1 has three volume control se ttings that interact in the follo wing manner: T ransmitter V olume Control for analog inputs (locat ed on the back of the transmitter) This controls only the v olume of the stereo analog inputs and has no effect on the transmitter digital in put volume.
