3 SECTION 1: IMPORTANT SAFE OPERATION PRACTICES Training 1. Read, understand, and follow all instructi ons on the machine and in the manual(s) before attempti ng to assemble and ope rate. Keep this manual in a safe place for future and regular re ference and for o rdering replacement parts.
4 2. Before starting th e machine, make sure the ch ipper chute, feed intake, and cutting cham ber are empty and free of all debris. 3. Thoroughly inspect al l material to be shredde d and remove any metal, rocks, bott les, cans, or other foreign objects which could cause personal injury or damage to the machine.
5 SECTION 2: ASSEMBLING YOUR CHIPPER SHREDDER VACUUM Unpacking • Remove staple s, break glue on top flaps, or cut tape at carton end an d peel along top flap to open carton. • Remove loose parts if included with unit (i. e., operator’s manu al, etc.
6 • Remove the thre e hex nuts and bell washers from the weld studs beside the op ening on the right side of the chipper-shred der vacuum. See Figure 4. Figure 4 • Place the chipper chute over the weld studs keeping the slotted sid e towards the bottom.

Chipper Chute Allow twigs and small bran ches up to 3” in diameter to be fed into the imp eller for chipping.
8 SECTION 4: OPERATING YOUR CHIPPER SHREDDER VACUUM • Read, under stand, and follow all instructio ns and warnings on the machine an d in this manual before operating. A pair of safety glasses has bee n provided with this equipm ent. Gas & Oil Fill-Up Service the eng ine with gasoline and oil a s instructed in the engine manual.
9 SECTION 5: ADJUSTING YOUR CHIPPER SHREDDER VACUUM Front Caster Wheels This chipper shredder vacuum is equipped with front caster wheels. The casters can be locked in a straight ahead position or to swivel freely. • Lift and place pins in the larger holes for locked or straight ahead operation.
10 SECTION 6: MAINTAINING YOUR CHIPPER SHREDDER VACUUM Lubrication • Wheels: Lubricate the rear wh eels with light oil once a season. • Nozzle Door Adju stment Le vers: Lubric ate each adjustment lever once a season with light oil.
11 • When sharpening blades, follow the original angle of grind. Also, make sure to re move an equal amount fr om each blade a nd torque har dware to 250 - 300 in.
12 Figure 17 • Press down on the belt guard spri ng by the idler pulley, and release the sprin g from the slot on the idler bracket. • Place the belt on the idle r pulley and place belt guard spring back int o the slot on the idler bracket. See Figure 17.
