5 SECTION 2: ASSEMBLING YOUR SNOW THROWE R Unp a cki ng F rom Car ton • Cut along corners of the carton and la y it down flat. Remove packi ng materi al. • Remove any loose pa rts included with unit (i.e., operator ’ s manua l, etc.). • Roll unit out of carton.

Ref er to page 9 of this manual for instructions. Assemblin g Dischar ge C hute • Turn the chute c rank until the chute faces straight to the front.
7 D is c har g e C hut e The angle of the d ischarge chute con trol s the dist ance that the snow is thrown. Tilt the discha r g e chute up for greater distance; tilt down for less distance. Loosen the hand knob on the side of the discharge chut e to adjust.
8 • If you have a gr ounded three -prong re ceptacle, procee d as follows. • Rotate choke lev er to FULL position. • Connect power cord t o switch box on dash p anel. Plug the other end of pow er cord into a t hre e-prong 120-vo lt, grounded, AC receptac le.
9 SECTION 5: MAKING ADJUSTMENTS Sh av e Pl at e • To check the adjust ment of the sh ave plate, place the uni t on a l e vel surface. See Figure 8. The wheels, shave pl ate and augers s hould all contact level surface. Note that if the shav e plate is adjuste d too high, snow may blow under the hous ing.
10 SECTION 6: MAINTAINING YOUR SNOW THROWER Replacing B elt • Remove th e belt cover by removing five hex screws. See F igure 12. Figu re 12 • Pull up on the idler pulley a nd slip the belt off the engine pul ley. See Figure 13. Figu re 13 • Push down on the idl er p ulley and slip the belt off the auge r pulley.
