Plug other equipment into surge-only outlets.* Set y our UPS’ s “OFF – ON” Switch.** USA, Canada & Western Europe · Set it and leave it “ON” at all times.
4 Switches With your UPS plugged in, set this switch according to the recommendations in Step 3 of the Quick Installation section. "ON" Position Function: ENABLES battery backup. UPS Conditions: The UPS battery is charging. Power is ON at the UPS receptacles.
5 Other UPS Features A C Receptac les The receptacles provide your connected equipment with AC line power during normal operation. They will provide battery power during blackouts and brownouts only if the “OFF/ON” Switch is set to the “ON” position.
6 FCC Part 68 Notice (U.S. only) If your Fax Modem Protector causes harm to the telephone network, the telephone company may temporarily discontinue your service. If possible, they will notify you in advance. If advance notice isn’t practical, you will be notified as soon as possible.
