14 USING THE HOB • To operate t he hotp lates tur n the co ntrol knobs in either dir ectio n to vary the heat se tting. • The high est number re presents t he hott est setting an d the l owest numb er t he c oolest setting. C hoose a setting ap propriate to t he quantity a nd type of food to be c ooked.

18 USES OF THE FAN OVEN PREHEA TIN G The fan oven quic kly reaches its te mperat ure, so it is not us ually neces sary to pr ehea t the oven . Wit hout preheati ng, however, you may fi nd you need t o add a n extra 5 –10 min utes o n the rec ommende d cooki ng tim es.

She lves are numbered from the bott om upwar ds. • When cooking m ore than one dish in t he fan oven, place dis hes c entrally on differe nt shelv es rather than cl uster sever al dishes on one s helf.
