1 Introduction Thank you for purchasi ng T ranscend’ s Memory S tick R eader/Wr ite r . The USB key-chai n type desig n o f this d evice pr ovides y ou with a convenie nt and fast dat a excha nge mechanism (MP 3, PDA, Digital Camera, data, etc…) with very easy Plug and Play installation.
2 System Requirements One standard US B port One of the fol lowi ng operati ng systems: W indows 98S E W in dow s 2000 W indows Me W indows XP Mac OS 8.
3 Step 2: Insert the Memor y Stick Reader/Writer Driver CD into the CD-ROM driv e and run the Setup.exe progr am. Step 3: The Installa tion W izard will guide you th rough the comp lete installation process. Hardware Setup S tep 1: Connect the Memory S t ick Reader /W rite r t o an availabl e USB por t of your compu ter .
4 S tep 3: The Memor y S tick R eader/W riter is r eady for us e. Y ou can find a new Removable Disk drive wi th a newly as signed dr ive l etter in th e My Computer w indo w .
5 Driv er Installati on W indows 98SE S te p1a : W hen you plug the Memory S tick Reader/W riter into a USB port on your comput er , a driver instal lation mess age for USB MS Card Reader w ill appear . S tep 1b: Please ins ert the Dri ver CD into the C D-ROM driv e.
6 S tep 3a: Please choose “ S pecify a location ”. Click on “ Browse ” to sel ect the correct p ath to the driver folder . S tep 3b: The Browse for folder wi ndow shoul d open. Br owse t o your CD-ROM drive. C lick on “ Drive (E:) ” ( where E is th e CD-ROM d rive letter).
7 S tep 3c: Return to th e prev ious window and click o n “ Next ”. S tep 4: Y our comp uter sh oul d fi nd “ U SB M emory S tick Reader/Writ er ”.
8 S tep 5: Please click on “ Finish ” to con tinue. S tep 6: Y our computer shoul d find the “ M emory S tick Reader/W riter ” now . Click on “ Next ”.
9 S tep 7: Please repeat S te ps 2 to 4, wi th the dri ver located in th e same p ath (e.g.,“ E:W in98 ”). Click “ Next ” to co ntinue. S tep 8: Please click on “ Finish ” to co mplete inst allatio n. S tep 9: The Memor y S tick R eader/W riter is r eady for us e.
10 To Uninstall You can uni nstall th e Memory Stick Read er/Writ er and dr iver by r unning Uninstall from the D ri ver C D. Follow the ons creen instr u ctions to c omplete the process. Mak e sur e th e Gr ee n LED li g ht o n the pr o duct i s o ff befor e y o u unplug it from the compu ter.
11 Step 2: Right cl ick on the “ icon ”. " Unplug or eject hardware " should ap pear . Left click to e nter t he remov al w indow. Step 3: After the wi ndow sho wn bel ow app ears, p lease s elect th e “ USB Memory Stick Reader /Writer ” and click on " Stop " to c ontin ue.
12 Ste p 5: W hen th e “ Sa fe To Remove Hardware ” window appears, t he Memory Stick Reade r/Writer is rea dy to be disco nnected. Click on “ OK ” If this re moval pr oced ure is no t fol lowed b efore disconnecti ng th e Memory Stick Reader/ Writer , t he message “ Unsafe Removal of Device ” appears.
13 Use of Memory Stick Reader/W riter with Mac OS 1. Plug the Memory Stick Reader/Writer i nto an av ailable USB por t. 2. Insert a Me mory Stick into Memory St ick Reader/ Writer. A disk icon will appear o n the deskto p. Y ou can then use th e Memory Stick as if it wer e a Mac HardDisk.
