12 CONNECTING YOUR TV English Controls and input connections A wide variety of external equipment can be connected to the input sock ets on the side of the television. While all the necessary adjustments and cont rols for the televisi on are made using the remote control, t he buttons on the telev ision may be used for some functions .
13 English SETTING UP YOUR TV Startup Application Before switching on the tel evision, put your decoder and media recorder, if applicable, to Standby . To set up the television, use the buttons on the remote control as detailed on page 6. a Press the 1 button.
14 SETTING UP YOUR TV English l Use b or B to move through the list to select a channel, and then press OK to view. In ATV mode, some areas may receive duplicate stations . There may n ot be a clea r pictur e or the si gnal may be weak, so the station order can be changed using ATV Manual Tuning .
15 SETTING UP YOUR TV English NOTE: As new services are broadcast, it will be necessary to re-tune the television in order to view th em. Auto Tuning will completely re-tune the televisi on and can be used to update th e channel list. It is recommended that Auto Tuning is run periodically to en sure that all new services are added .

NOTE: Quick Menu items are dif ferent depending on the current mode.
21 CONTROLS AND FEA TURES English Sound controls Volume Press y or Y to adjust the volume. Sound Mute Press once to turn the so und off and again to cancel. If a programme or film is being broadcast with a soundtrack in more than one language, the DUAL feature allows selection between them.
22 CONTROLS AND FEA TURES English Sometimes there can be large changes in volume when switching from a DTV 5.1ch to a DTV 2ch, an ATV channel, or an external input. Using the Audio Level Offset fe ature reduces these volume differences. a Set the volume leve l usually used when watc hing a DTV 5.
23 CONTROLS AND FEA TURES English Widescreen viewing Depending on the type of broadcast being transmi tted, programmes can be viewed in a number of formats. SUBTITLE SUBTITLE SUPER LIVE This setting will enlarge a 4:3 image to fit the screen by stretching the image horizontally and vertically, holding better proportions at the centre of the image.

26 CONTROLS AND FEA TURES English The Base Colour Adjustment feature allows the adjustment of individual colours to suit personal preference. This can be useful when using an external source . a In the Advanced Picture Se ttings menu, press b to select Base Colour Adjustment , and then press OK .

This TV can play digital content stored on a DLNA CERTIFIED™ product wi th server function. If you want to use this TV as a DLNA CERTIFIED™ Player or Renderer, you wi ll have to configure the networ k on your TV ( see page 11 ).

43 CONTROLS AND FEA TURES English Using Media Player with USB When Auto Start is enabled, you will be asked if you want to start the Media Player whenever a USB device is inserted. If Auto Start is disabled (or if you want to connect to a DMS on the network), you must manually start the Media Player from the menu.

49 CONTROLS AND FEA TURES English Using the Photo Frame feature You can use the TV sc reen as a digital photo frame. One image (pre-installed or user-installed ) can be displayed. Date info can also be superimposed, if desired. You can overwrite the photo file with a file from a USB storage device or DLNA CERTIFIED™ Server.

51 CONTROLS AND FEA TURES English Other features Panel Lock disables the buttons on the tele vision. All buttons on the remote control can still be used. a In the PREFERENCES menu, select Panel Lock and choose On or Off using C or c . When Panel Lock is On , a reminder will appear when the buttons on the television are pressed.
52 CONTROLS AND FEA TURES English The feature allows you to set the television t o turn on automatically t o a preset channel at a certai n time of day or after a certain length of time. a In the APPLIC ATIONS menu, press b to select On Timer and press OK .
53 CONTROLS AND FEA TURES English Energy Saving Settings The TV will automati cally turn itself off (standby) after 4 hours, if you do not operate the TV either from the remote control or the TV control panel. a In the PREFERENCES menu, highlight Energy Saving Settings and press OK .

58 CONTROLS AND FEA TURES English The Common Interface Slot, situ ated on the side of the television, enables the insertion o f a CAM (Conditional Access Module) and card. These are purchased from a service provider and allow additional subscription broadcasts to be viewed.

Before downloading software; Configure yo ur TV to connect to the Internet. NOTE: While the upgrade is being per formed, you will not be able to watch th e TV.

LIST will save your four favorite pages. The text character set will be automatically chosen by the language setting in the SETUP menu.
