10 CONNECTING Y OUR TV Englis h REGZA-LINK connection You can control the basic functions of connected audio/ video devices using the television’s remote contr ol if you connect a REGZA-LINK compatible AV amplifier or playback de vice. For an explanation of setup and operations, see pages 61–62.
11 CONNECTING YOUR TV English Connecting a computer With either an RGB/PC or an HDMI connection, you can watch your computer’s display on the television and hear the sound from the television’s speakers.
12 CONNECTING Y OUR TV Englis h Connecting a home network The LAN port allows your Toshiba TV to connect to your home network. You can use this revolutionary home entertainment networki ng system to access photo, video and audio files that are stored on a DLNA CERTIFIED™ server and play/display them on your TV.
13 CONNECTING YOUR TV English Controls and input connections A wide variety of external equipment can be connecte d to the input sockets on the side of the television. Whilst all the necessary adjustments and controls for the tele vision are made using th e remote control, the buttons on the televi sion may be used for some functions .
14 Englis h SETTING UP YOUR TV Startup Application Before switching on the television, put your decoder and media recorder, if appli cable, to Standby . To set up the television, use the buttons on the remote control as detailed on page 6. a Press the 1 button.
15 SETTING UP YOUR TV English m Use B or b to move through the li st to sel ect a channel, and then press Q to view. In ATV mode, some areas may receive duplicate stations. There may not be a clear picture or the signal may be weak, so the station order can be chan ged using ATV Manu al Tuni ng .
16 SETTING UP YOUR TV Englis h NOTE: As new serv ices are broadcast, it will be necessary to re-tune th e televi sion in o rder to vi ew them. Auto Tuning will completely re-tune the televi sion and can be used to update the cha nnel list.

23 CONTROLS AND FEATURES English Surround or Stereo Extension , Voice Enhancement , and Dynamic Bass Boost help to create an enhanced surround sound experience with deep, r ich bass from stereo sound sources. Your TV’s audio will sound fuller , richer, and wider.

SUBTITLE SUBTITLE SUPER LIVE This setting will enlarge a 4:3 image to fit the scre en by stretc hing the image horizontally and vertically, holding better proportions at the centre of the image.

39 CONTROLS AND FEATURES English Using the Media Player This TV allows you to enjoy photo files stored on a USB device or SD Memory Card (XV/MV series only). Moreover, you can also play photos, movies or music files from your PC by connec ting the TV to your home network.

The pictures are displayed usin g thumbnail data in each image file. The initial highlighted position will be on the top left thumbnail in the Multi View.

Date info can also be superimposed, if desired. You can overwr ite the photo fi le with a file from a USB storage device or SD card.

49 CONTROLS AND FEATURES English The featur e allows you to set the tel evision to turn on automatically to a preset channel at a cer tain time of day or after a certain length of ti me. When On Timer is set to On , the green On Timer indicato r on the front of the television is lit.

56 CONTROLS AND FEAT URES Englis h System Information and Reset TV This feature can be used to check the version of software currently installed. When in DTV mode, it includes additional diagnostic information such as signal strength , signal quality, centre frequency, mo dulation, etc.
