9 CONNECTING YOUR T V Connecting external equipment Before connecting any external equipment, turn off all main power switches. If there is no switch, remove the mains plug from the wall socket. Aerial cable s: - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Connect the aerial to th e sock et on the rea r of the tel evision.
10 CONNECTING YO UR TV Connecting an HDMI™ or DVI device to th e HDMI input The HDMI input on you r televis ion rec eives digita l audio and u ncompressed digital video from an HDMI source device or uncompressed digi tal video from a DV I (Digital Visual Int erface) source device.

12 CONNECTING YO UR TV Controls and in put connections A wide variety o f external equipmen t can be connected t o the input sockets on the side of the television. Whilst all the necessary adjustments and controls for the television are made using the remote control, the butt ons on the tel evision may be used f or some functi ons.
13 SETTING UP YOUR TV Startup Application Before switching on th e television, put your decoder and media recorder, if applicable, to Standby . To set up the televisio n, use th e buttons on the remote control as detailed on page 7. a Press t he 1 button.

15 SETTING UP YOUR TV NOTE: As new ser vices a re br oadcast, it will be n ecessar y to re-tune the televisi on in orde r to view them. Aut o T uni n g will com pletely re-tune the television and can be used to up dat e the channel li st. It is rec ommen ded that Aut o Tuning is run periodica lly to ensure that all new s ervices are ad ded.
