IMPOR T ANT SAFEGUARDS When using electrical appliances , basic safety precautions should always be followed including the following: 1. Read all instructions . 2. Do not touch hot surfaces . Use handles or knobs . 3. T o protect against electrical hazards , do not immerse cord, plugs , or the appliance in water or other liquid.
POLARIZED PLUG T his appliance has a polarized plug (one blade is wider than the other). T o reduce the risk of electric shock, this plug will fit in a polarized outlet only one way . If the plug does not fit fully in the outlet, reverse the plug. If it still does not fit, contact a qualified electrician.
HOW T O USE 1 mug 1. Slide the switch on the top of the machine to the 'single mug' symbol. 2. Open the Door for the F ilter Bask et on the right side of the unit. 3. Place the desired amount of coffee into the P ermanent Nylon F ilter . 4. Close the F ilter Bask et Door .
5. P our fresh cold water into the Water Reservoir , up to the 'double mug' marking. NO TE: • If the Mug is used to fill the Water Reservoir , it should be warmed up before making coffee . Otherwise the cool Mug may lower the temperature of the coffee .
5. W ash the F ilter Bask ets , P ermanent Nylon F ilters , Removable Drip T rays and the Mugs and Covers in warm soapy w ater . Rinse and dry . 6. Wipe the Base with a soft damp cloth.
A short supply cord is provided to reduce the hazards of becoming entangled in or tripping over a long cord. Extension cords may be used if care is exercised in their use .
