Co nnections & Setup 7 AUDIO/VIDEO/S-VIDEO INPUTS (INPUT1, INPUT2, INPUT3) T he audio jac ks provide stereo sound. If y our device has only one audio output, y ou need to connect a “Y” adapter to your component and to both the left and right inputs on the monitor .
8 C onnections & Setup SELECTED AUDIO/VIDEO OUTPUTS Provides audio and video output from your last selected sour ce (except component and SVGA jacks). VIDEO provides video output. It gi ves better picture quality than just a coaxial cable because it carries only video signals.
Co nnections & Setup 9 AUDIO OUTPUT FIXED provides fixed-level audio output from the monitor . This audio output is ideal for connecting to an A/V receiv er w hen y ou want to control the volume through the A/V receiver . VARIABLE pro vides variable-level audio output.

Co nnections & Setup 11 Monitor , VCR, and a Satellite Receiver 1. Connect the coaxial cable carrying y our television signal (off air or cable) to the antenna input on the VCR. 2. Connect a coaxial cable to the VCR’ s antenna output and to the ANTENNA/C ABLE INPUT jack on the monitor .
12 C onnections & Setup Monitor , VCR, Satellite Receiver , and a DVD Player 1. Connect the coaxial cable carrying y our television signal (off air or cable) to the antenna input on the VCR. 2. Connect a coaxial cable to the VCR’ s antenna output and to the ANTENNA/C ABLE INPUT jack on the monitor .

Use RC A cables to connect either the FIXED or V ARIABLE AUDIO OUTPUT from the monitor to an A/V recei ver . • FIXED pro vides fixed-level audio output from the monitor . STEP 1: PLUG IN THE MONITOR Plug the end of the power cord into an appropriate w all outlet.
Co nnections & Setup 19 THE POINT AND SELECT NA VIGA TION METHOD Y ou can “get around” in the menu system by using just a few buttons on the remote control. W e call this the “Point and Select” method of navigation, and it has tw o steps. 1.

Co nnections & Setup 21 SET THE VCR1 CHANNEL (AUT O TUNING) T he next step lets you set the VCR1 c hannel. When y ou set the VCR1 channel, the monitor automatically tunes to the correct input c hannel w hen press the VCR1 button on the remote. T his is called “ Autotuning.
22 C onnections & Setup SET THE VCR2 CHANNEL (AUT O TUNING) Y ou can set the VCR2 button on the remote to automatically tune to an input channel as well. If you don’ t ha ve a VCR2 component connected to the monitor , skip this step. 1. F rom the Channel menu (sho wn belo w), select Autotuning .
Co nnections & Setup 23 SET THE D VD CHANNEL (AUT OTUNING) T he next step lets you set the D VD channel. When you set the D VD c hannel, you’ re telling the monitor what c hannel to tune to when you press the D VD button on the remote. Indicate whic h input y ou used to connect an DVD pla yer .
24 C onnections & Setup SET THE SA T/C ABLE CHANNEL (AUT O TUNING) The next step lets y ou set the SA T/CABLE c hannel. When y ou set the SA T/C ABLE channel, you’ re telling the monitor what channel to tune to when y ou press the DIRECTV button on the remote.

Using the Remo te 27 H OW TO USE Y OUR U NIVERSAL R EMO TE This section def ines the buttons of the remote and ho w to progr am it to control other components. The univer sal remote can be programmed to control most brands of remote controllable VCRs, satellite receivers, and cable bo xes.
28 Using the Remo te REMO TE BUTT ONS ON•OFF When in TV mode, turns the monitor on and off. If in another device mode (VCR, D VD, Satellite (DIRECTV), etc.) and progr ammed, will turn the device on and off. Press twice within two seconds to turn off most Pr oScan , RC A and GE products at once.
Using the Remo te 29 MENU Brings up the Main menu and selects highlighted items. When in VCR mode, it functions as a PROGRAM button.
