Connections and initial set up 3 EN EN Connecting: D VD pla y er + TV set Recommended Audio – Video connection Connect a Scart-Peritel cable (not supplied) to the TV A UDIO VIDEO OUT (RGB) output sock et at the r ear of your D VD pla yer and to the AV 1 input socket of y our television set (sometimes called AUX 1 or EXT 1 ).

It uses the Scart-Peritel cable that gr oups together an Audio analogue connection for sound and Video f or R VB images.

10 Pla ying a disc Discs y ou can pla y • Digital video discs - 12 cm, single or double sided, single or dual la yer . D VDs are high density optical discs on which high quality pictur e and audio are r ecorded by means of digital signals.

Menus 22 Lock menu Y our pla yer mak es it possible to set ratings limits to pla ying discs and to lock pla yback for discs that contain information or scenes that exceed the ratings limit y ou ha ve set. This function allows you, for instance , to contr ol the type of matter a child can watch.

Press to highlight P arental Contr ol and press OK (if r equested to do so k ey in y our code; the P arental Contr ol menu a ppears). 3. Menus 24 Displa y menu The Displa y menu pro vides you with settings to ada pt the picture format and TV standard (P AL/NTSC) to that of your TV set. Y ou can also adjust the brightness of the play er’ s displa y panel and activate the Pr ogressiv e Scan function.
EN EN Menus 25 P AL or NTSC TV sets If the picture on the D VD being pla yed a ppear in black and white on your TV screen, the standard of the video signals transmitted to your TV is incorr ect. Change the video signal fr om P AL to NTSC or vice versa.
Menus 26 Sound menu The Sound menu pr ovides you with settings so y ou can adapt y our play er to the devices connected. It also enables y ou to access specific functions. Night Mode This function is designed for night-time listening to a void disturbing y our neighbours.

Y ou can change the language of the pla yer menus, the language of the disc menus, the language of the dialogues and that of the subtitles. In the menu, choose your pref err ed language for dialogues and subtitles.
