This manual was written with your safety and convenience in mind, and the in- formation contained herein is very import ant.

4 Dishwasher Components IMPORT ANT : Before you wash anything in the dishwasher , check the information in this section. Some materials are not dishwasher safe and should be hand-washed; others require special loading. Contact the material’s manufacturer if you are unsure about a material’ s dishwasher suitability .
5 W ASHING DISHES WITH YOUR THERMADOR DISHW ASHER Dishware Prep aration Dishes with normal soiling do not require pre-washing, but do remove large food particles, bones, seeds, toothpicks, and excessive grease. Items with burned-on or hard, stuck- on material may require pre-soaking and hand-scouring.
6 Loading the Bottom Rack Note: For the best drying results, place tall items such as plastic cutting boards and tall baking sheets on the lower rack's left side or back. This will keep the vent on the dishwasher tub’s right side unobstructed. Place large items in the bottom rack of the dishwasher .
7 Both baskets have tops that can be folded up to accomodate large or oddly-shaped items. However , your silverware will receive a more thorough cleaning if you load the silverware baskets with the tops down and use a load pattern similar to the one suggested by Figure 14.
8 CAUTION: POSSIBLE DISHW ARE DAMAGE - T oo much detergent in sof t water may cause etching in glassware. Do not use too much detergent if your water supply is soft. 2. Using the measuring lines in the detergent chamber as a guide, fill the detergent chamber with the amount of detergent recommended in T able 1.
9 Operating Y our Dishwasher Select the Proper W ash Cycle The Normal W ash cycle will thoroughly clean most everyday loads having loosely attached foods. For more heavily soiled dishware use Heavy W ash. Pots and pans with baked-on, dried-on, or stuck-on foods may require soaking and hand- scouring.
10 Figure 26 Unloading Y our Dishwasher Dishware tends to be hot immediately after washing and drying. T o cool your dishware more quickly , open the dishwasher door slightly for a few minutes before unloading. Always unload the lower rack first and unload the upper rack last.
11 Wipe up water from spills and splashouts that occur around your Thermador dishwasher . Winterizing Y our Dishwasher CAUTION: POSSIBLE DISHW ASHER DAMAGE - FREEZING TEMPERA TURES CAN DAMAGE THE DISHWASHER. DO NOT ALLOW WA TER TO REMAIN IN THE DISHWASHER THROUGH EXTENDED PERIODS OF FREEZING TEMPERA TURES.
12 Check/Clean the Spray Arms Occasionally check the spray arms to ensure that the spray nozzles are clear and unobstructed. The spray arms are easy to remove, clean, and reinstall. T o remove the lower spray arm: 1. Pull the empty lower rack out of the dishwasher tub.
13 SELF HELP Dishwashers may exhibit problems that are unrelated to a malfunction of the dishwasher itself. The following information may answer your questions about a problem you are having without your having to call a repair person. Dishes do not dry - Rinse-aid dispenser is empty .
