35 Chapter 3: F i rst T ime Setup Overview Once the hardwa re i s i nsta lled, p hysically connec t ed to yo u r network, and pow ered on, yo u can configure the Thec u s I P storage s o t h at i t is acce ssible to your networ k users. T here are t wo way s to set up yo ur Thecus IP storage: using the The c us Setup Wi zard or the LC D disp lay .
36 6. Name your T hecus IP storage and co nfigure the net wor k IP address. I f your switch or ro uter is co n figured as a DHCP Server, configuring the Thecus IP storage to automa tically obta i n an IP add ress is recomm ended. Yo u ma y also use a stat ic IP addr ess and enter the DN S Server addres s man ually.
