6 · D eco derst ation 5 Unpacking Fold the flaps on the top of the box outward, re- move the r igid foam or p olystyrene and c arefully lif t the appliance out of the box. For your own b enefit, we recommend that you do not dispos e of the box as it can be used to guaran- tee safe transpor t if the device requires servicing later on.
7 Deco derst ation 5 · About the De code rstation 5 Deco derst ation 5 is a st and-alone deco der that can b e use d to process audio s ignals from analo - gue and digital sources .
8 · D eco derst ation 5 Swit ching on the Deco derst ation 5 Switch on the D eco derstation 5 by pressing the dial control. The appliance will be ready for use af- ter a few seconds . A progress b ar w ill be shown in the display during this time.
9 Deco derst ation 5 · 5.1 Channel Output (Pre Out) A deco ded analogue multi- channel sound s ignal is emit t ed v ia an analogue 5.1 output . Alt ernatively you can also use the outputs for the lef t and r ight front channels for reproduction in st ereo.
10 · D eco derst ation 5 With the included remote control you can fully control all of the De coderst ation 5 settings f rom the comfor t of your sofa.
11 Deco derst ation 5 · Note Y ou can reproduce all of the functions of the dial control using the OK button and both arrow buttons, left and right. Mode Y ou c an select the var ious sur round conf igu - rations of the Decoderst ation 5 by repeat edly pressing this but t on.

By lowering r raising one channel you can optimise the sound experience for an asymmetrical listening situation, similar to a balance controller .
